hornblower
I have a wall painted with washable flat latex which got grimy from dogs. I wiped it down with a magic eraser & it cleaned all the gunk off wonderfully but I'm left with streaks when you look at it from the side. It's not the paint - that's fine & I didn't see any of the color on the magic eraser. It's just kind of streaky like when you wash a window with poor cleanser or don't polish it enough. But how do I clean this up on the wall? When I wiped with just plain damp cloth, it still dries streaky. What's the trick to washing a wall so it dries like it does when it's freshly painted? Mejane
I like how well Magic Erasers clean, but they do seem to streak almost everything. I wash walls with plain water and buff them with a towel.
Lolly
I have found that it often times takes a bucket of paint and a brush to clean it properly.:glare:

In The Great White North
It's too late for this wall, but generally, when washing a wall one starts at the bottom and works up to avoid streaks. That's for washing with some sort of soap and water - I don't know what Magic Eraser does to it. Did you try TSP? Come to think of it, it the dirt was from the dogs, did you try Borax?
