Dmmetler
My 5 yr old broke a bone in her finger trying to do a flip off the stairs yesterday-so she's now VERY interested in bones after spending the afternoon at the orthopedist. Any good resources on doing a quick bone study-preferably one that can be done by a child who doesn't have full use of her dominant hand? MissKNG
FWIW since it's not a unit study, my big girl loves her book from Scholastic called 'Body Basics: Bones'.
Dmmetler
I may have to create my own ;). I figure I'm going to be hearing all about bones for the next few weeks anyway. I might as well be hearing something beyond "I broke my hand and it hurts!".
Dmmetler
Here's what I've found so far http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/explore/skeleton.htm http://teachhealthk-12.uthscsa.edu/curriculum/bones/bone.asp
T'smom
I don't have any 'already put together' unit studies, but one fun thing to do is to cut a bone in half (from fried chicken or from the butcher) and look at the marrow!

Dmmetler
Thanks for the ideas. I guess that's a sign that you're a homeschooler-when an accident becomes a unit study?
