miracleone
We're going to use FLL3 for 3rd grade. I realized that it requires a lot of parent involvement. I was wondering if there's a good grammar workbook that my dd8 can do independently on days when I cannot sit down with her to do grammar? Thank you. flyingmommy
My 3rd grader is really enjoying CLE grammar. I go over the new part of the lesson with her and then she does the rest. Very little work for me! She's a work book kid, though, which helps. The really nice thing about CLE grammar is that it is inexpensive. Yay! Mrs Mungo
The Grammar, Usage, Mechanics workbooks are pretty simple and effective.
Negin
We like these a lot - Grammar Practice Simplified. Rainbow Resource has them also.

kalanamak
:iagree: My kids LOVE GWG. It's a solid curriculum which is easily done independently. :iagree: And it was the first thing kiddo learned to do independently. He loves getting it done as a "surprise" for me when I get home from work. I know he likes it (makes him feel capable) because he is eager to get to the next book. We are doing Books 1 and 2 in a single (second grade) year. Pros: Lays flat! No distracting pictures! Painless gain with gentle repetition Not dumbed down (uses the real words for parts of speech) Easy to plan, as each two-page section takes the same amount of time. (No "easy days" vs. "has to be split into two days") Cons: The proper names (usually names of children) in sample sentences are sometimes too unusual and non-phonetic. My son has learned to guess and move on, but he would "stick" on them at first, out of perfectionism. How many 7 year olds know a Moira (which is more phonetic if you say it in Great Britain)?
