freeindeed
I really, really want this. Is it worth the money? How does implementing it look in your homeschool? Thanks.
AngelaNYC
I love using it with our nature journaling. A great website that makes it fun is this one: http://handbookofnaturestudy.blogspot.com. She made a bunch of Outdoor Hour Challenges that you could try. Edited June 9, 2010 by Abkjw01 typo!
freeindeed
I love her blog. I've been following it for a while now--it's one reason why I really want this book.:D
AngelaNYC
It's also free online, you know. You can try it before you buy it!
H0MEFree
It's kind of cool, but I do NOT think it is worth the cost even for what people pay for it used. I bought one used years ago and was so disappointed when I received it in the mail that I put it right up for sale again on the boards. :( IMHO, it is hype. Sorry, not trying to offend. JayneJ
It's a great resource. I downloaded mine from achieve.org as a PDF. It takes a while to download. We haven't used it a ton but I plan to use it more this year. I would like to use it as a followup after nature hikes and sketching/writing about nature in our nature jounrals. I agree that the used pricing can be ridiculous. I have seen it for sale on Barnes & Nobles for under $30 if you want a print edition. Irishmommy
I downloaded it free online, but I really wanted to be able to hold it in my hand. I absolutely LOVE having an actual copy to underline and highlight. I use this mostly as a resource for myself, but have also used it in conjunction with the outdoor hour blog. HNS was worth the money to me, i'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Irishmommy
My post "Focusing on the Fruit" is the first of many blog entries inspired by my reading of HNS. http://shannongans.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-03-26T19%3A00%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=
stripe
I have it, and I have to say that, while there is a lot of useful information in it, it is a GIANT, fat paperback book (mine's spine has cracked) with tiny print. I don't find myself reaching for it as much as I thought I might.
AudreyTN
I just ordered this one. It's $12.45 plus $3.99 shipping. If you use the code GIVING it will take $1 off, total $15.44. :)
freeindeed
Thank you all for the replies. I'm buying it used from someone here at WTM for a really great price. I'm so excited. I can't wait to get it!:D
