PollyOR
How do you spell "yay" like you are cheering for someone? The online Merriam-Webster dictionary doesn't recognize the word "yay" yet I see it used often. The way they pronounce "yeah" is like a surly teenager, "Yeah, right!" So, should I use "yea?" I feel so silly. :tongue_smilie:
PentecostalMom
It's YAY, just like you said! Yea....is like, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death," etc... Yeah, is like, "Yeah, whatever." This from an English major, working on my Master's. Don't feel silly! :)
Desert Rat
I usually avoid it all together and say "hurray!" :)

Natalieclare
How about yippee? That's my favorite. :D
Tohru
I think "yeah" and can be pronounced either: yeah, right or yeah, yippee. However that was back in the 80s...Now to avoid confusion with online boards, emails, etc. I use "yay" because then there is no doubt what I'm trying to say :D
