Perry
I'm cooking a pork roast in the crock pot, but it isn't completely thawed. How do I adjust the cooking time? My settings are warm, low, and high.
dansamy
I'm by no means an expert, but I always start with frozen meat, on high and let it cook all day. Speaking of.... I'm off to load *my* CP!
justlittleoldme
I do the same thing with my frozen meat, stick it in the crock pot all day on high. And add me to the crock pot list...chicken today!
PiCO
I'm cooking a pork roast in the crock pot, but it isn't completely thawed. How do I adjust the cooking time? My settings are warm, low, and high. I just throw the frozen meat in with the recipe and follow the recipe. The meat is always cooked in the allotted time.
AuntieM
I remember my cp instruction book specifically stating not to put in frozen meat, but.... I've done it for years! Never gotten sick. ETA I use the low setting.
MamaT
I do it all the time. I use the low setting and let it cook all day.
*********
Just wanted to say thanks for reminding me to put our dinner in the crock pot. :) And yes, sometimes the meat is frozen; I try to defrost it in the microwave while prepping the veggies, then I just stick it all in there. Low if there's time, high if not. It always turns out fine for me.
Kim in Appalachia
I do that a lot. :001_smile: I've put every kind of meat in the crockpot frozen and it works fine. It works best if the meat is in some sort of liquid or sauce.
