Dr. Hive, in need of painful shot advice . . .

So I have to have a round of shots.

 

I had two last week, one each side -- and not my arm, iykwim. From here on out for 5 wks, I get one each week. I went today for round two but round one was still sore. The first round hurt. The second round R.E.A.L.L.Y hurt, mostly b/c that side was still hurting from last week.

 

Now, one side kinda hurts and one side really hurts.

 

But I still have a few to go and I would like my hiney to stop hurting BEFORE I go in next week for round three. Then it would be like getting a shot, not like getting a shot on top of a shot.

 

How do I do that?:confused:

Did you ask your doctor? It (in my notadoctor/noramedicalanything opinion) sounds like whatever is getting injected is not getting absorbed into the muscle...

If they are iron shots, my Mom STILL talks about having to get them when she was pregnant with me and I'm nearly 40 years old.

 

They must have been some killer shots.

Can you get them in your thighs instead of your hiney (alternating with the two)? I personally have at least as much padding there.:tongue_smilie:

You could try taking arnica montana - a homeopathic remedy that is good for bruises and sore muscles.

I used to take allergy shots and when I had one hit a bad spot I would take as hot of a bath as I could stand. Warm to hot compresses also may help.
