Mom2J112903
"we can homeschool College too" is what my 6yr old son just told me. We have not even started our homeschooling adventure (last day of Catholic School tommrow!) and he is already asking to stay home forever.:001_wub: I will miss my one and only *very* much when that day comes, but I know they do have to grow up, right? ;)
Purpledaizy
:001_wub:ahhhh love it when my ds says things like this. He's only recently been convinced that he can't marry mommy because mommy is already married, lol.
myfatherslily
Awww, how sweet!! My 6 year old can't WAIT until she grows up. She's going to buy a horse when she's 17, learn to drive, and become a dentist. She was just wondering yesterday who will take care of her kids when she's off doing her dentist work:) Makes it seem so much closer when she talks like that! coop
:001_wub: That is sooooooo cute! My youngest is a boy and he is absolutely in love with me. I'm enjoying it while I can.
MamaT
Oh ladies, enjoy these times. I have so many fond memories of my oldest two (grown) sons saying those things to me. While they still love their mama, they have flown the coop. My oldest wrote this poem for me when he was 21. I'll share it for you for inspiration on days they aren't so cute!:001_smile: My Constant If I could remember the beginning of me I would see your smiling face Because you are constant as the tide of the sea With a love that fills every inch of outer space As a child it was your kisses on my bruises And your hugs during my worst nights It is you that still finds all my toys I lose You that helps me gain the goals in my sights It was you that filled me with Curiosity So now I must hunt for the end of every Mystery It was you that showed me Literature's beauty And every world that simply waits for my Imagination Because one of the best parts of my day Is waking up and having the morning together Before I have to get on the rush of my way There isn't much we have to say You just seem to make things better So thank you, for putting the Love of Life in my heart And putting Wisdom in these eyes In the production of my life, you have an enormous part Simply because you answered all of my Whys
Ravin
My DD has expressed similar sentiments. Isn't it sweet? Except she already has marriage plans; they include having my future son-in-law move in with us, rather than leaving home (except to take a year-long trip abroad after getting married--at 16 :glare:.) GoVanGogh
My (one and only) son cuddled up with me the other day and said, "Mom, I just wanted to tell you that I love doing school at home, but I am afraid that I am going to have to go to school for college, okay?" I held back a giggle and asked him why he thought he would go away for college. He told me real matter-of-fact that he was afraid we "wouldn't be able to afford the electron microscope he would need to do his studies." Such seriousness from an 8-year-old. I was just thankful he didn't say I wasn't smart enough to teach him college level work. :tongue_smilie:
