astrid
Hi there, Just traded in my aging yet much-loved BlackBerry for an iPhone, and though I"m probably the only person in America who feels this way, I"m just not feelin' the love. First, I had great ringtones for my family members. Can I still do that? Molly's was a part of "Brown Eyed Girl" and Dh's was our wedding song....both always brought a smile to my face when I heard them. I searched iTunes and basically came up with lots of chickens, monkeys and farts, but none that were from actual songs. It must be do-able, no? Thanks for any information. astrid
kokotg
You can turn any song you have on itunes into a ringtone; it costs 99 cents. I haven't set special ringtones for particular people, but it can be done. If you go to your contacts and click on a name, it has an option to set the ringtone. fivetails
I don't have an iPhone [i've got an older BB Pearl] but I remember a friend of mine growling about this when she got hers..I don't know what she did, but i googled and this came up: How to make custom iPhone ringtones for free [using songs you have in iTunes, apparently] .. maybe that will work for ya. :)
astrid
Thanks for the link--- it says you can't use songs you've purchased from iTunes, though. Wonder why that is? Hmmmm.....there's gotta be a way, right?
Paula in PA
Try this site: Ringtonesia. I used this for ringtones for my Palm Pre and it worked great. You can use any mp3 song on your computer and it's simple to do.
Stacie
I've downloaded free ringtones from this website. I've never had any trouble, just download them onto my computer and transfer them to my iPhone. There are other ways, and probably easier ways to do it, but this works for me!
i.love.lucy
I've had good luck using Bongotones. It just sends the tone as a multimedia message to your phone and you save it as a ringtone. I've downloaded the Lawrence Welk theme for my MIL's ring. And the funny Geico commercial "ringadee ding ding dingy dong" for my dh's ring. The Darth Vader theme for a few bad people. I've got a bunch of them. All free.
