Renee in NC
Did anyone else jump? I even *knew* the Space Shuttle was coming in and it scared me!
sassenach
I don't live in Fl anymore, but those sonic booms used to get me every time. It's going to be a sad day when that last shuttle comes back.
FloridaLisa
We didn't jump, but it was awesome to hear up here. Love that boom, boom of the re-entry! Lisa
elise1mds
Heck, we heard one in Oklahoma this time around...
jenn-
How far can these things be heard? I heard a boom sound about that time but I am in AL. I just figured it was a machine in the area.

There was some concern that it wasn't going to land here in FL because of weather, but it did.

Hey--we are in Bama, too. I didn't hear anything. The kiddos would really have thought that was cool.
jenn-
What I heard was closer to 9EST. Would that be close time wise?
ChristusG
Ummm....I seriously just about wet my pants! I flew out of my seat, ran to the window, and was absolutely certain that I'd see some big plume of smoke where something blew up. :blushing: My mom called a few minutes later (she lives just around the corner from me) and asked me if I had heard the sonic boom. Heard it? I nearly had a heart attack because of it LOL! I tend to overreact a bit. The thing is, this morning I watched on the news that the shuttle was probably not going to be able to land today, much less in Florida. So I was definitely not expecting the sonic boom.
FeFe
Nope, I think I'm too far from Florida. But several years ago in Georgia we heard one and wow! I couldn't imagine living anywhere closer! It was so loud.
