5kidsforME
Would I need 2 meeting books for this when schooling to K'ers at the same time? TIA!
pixelroper
technically-Yes, there are charts to fill, calendar practice etc. It is a workbook of sorts.
stephanie
Would I need 2 meeting books for this when schooling to K'ers at the same time? TIA! If you feel like you need to then yes. I just pulled out a small calendar and used that one. You can improvise a lot with the K text. I think it just depends on what you're comfortable with as far as sticking exactly with what the book says. For my first dc I followed it exactly, but now on my 4th dc I just look at the lesson and do my own thing.
Carmen_and_Company
IMHO, you may wish to buy the 1st grade Saxon set for a kindergarten aged child. We used the K as our pre-school math, and even then found Saxon slow moving and easy, but every child is different. We switched to a combo of Miquon & Singapore 1 in K. Philothea
I copied mine and taped it together in the middle so I could use it again.
Chris in VA
I agree with Carmen--we also used Saxon a year ahead. You certainly don't have to, but it's very doable. We never used the meeting book--we just hung a poster-sized calendar from the office supply store (they have a teacher section) and used post-it notes to write the date on. We also got a small package of sentence strips that you could write on with dry erase, to write the day's name and date. I used the sentence strips to label the house, too, and to write the pattern of the day. For the price of the meeting book, I got all the other things, that helped me much more. TracyR
Saxon has diagnostic tests on their website . It is very accurate . I think you could easily do with 1 meeting book . Because the student doesn't write in it. You do for K .
