Is Hakim's Story of Science too secular for a conservative Christian family?

Well that depends - do you take a providential view of American history? If you do, then you probably will not like Hakim to put it mildly. Do you think American history is a complex mix of people and events? If you do, then you could probably use and enjoy it as part of a well-rounded history program. Maybe take a look at how Sonlight incorporates it into their material.

If you're very conservative Christian, my guess is you won't want to use it. Did you check the reviews at Amazon? They're very helpful in pointing out some of the ways Christianity (and religion in general) are portrayed in the book(s).
