Friederike in Persia
Any sort of game suggestions and/or web sites? We tend to not have electricity during school hours, so ideally it should be something that I can print out, rather than ds play on the web. Thanks a lot,
Snickerdoodle
I just use drills from here: http://www.math-drills.com/
Guest
You can modify the card game War to practice multiplication: instead of each player laying down two cards and the high card winning, each players lays down two and multiples. Have your child figure out who takes the set. There are other simple games for practicing times tables in Peggy Kaye's book "Games For Math." They are easy, use only paper, pencil, coins or markers, things like that.

helena
We use a dry erase board like this, my daughter loves it. http://abcteach.com/Math/mult1.htm
nd293
Dd loves TimeZAttack. You can download the base version for free, or buy the full version. The base version does everything that the full version does, but the full version has a variety of scenarios. http://www.bigbrainz.com/ No electricity: 1) Get 9 cheap balls, and number them 1-9. Decide which table you're practicing. Throw balls at (umm, to) the child, the child must multiply by that number. 2) Use only the 1-9 cards in a set of playing cards. Shuffle. Turn over 1 at a time and multiply by that number. 3) Get a couple of 0-9 dice. Use these, either singly if you are practicing a specific table, or together if you are practicing all the tables. rwjx2khsmj
We love Math Dice. They turn multiplication, and a lot of other math, into a game.
Liza Q
We use three methods but only two will work well for you. TimezAttack is great, though! Flash cards (bought mine at Staples) - basic drill! Multiplication Facts in Five Minutes a Day I only have him do the drill sheets but it does have little flashcard masters and game ideas, if I ever need to bump it up. You may get some good ideas here!
Tree House Academy
Have you tried those "wrap up" key thingies? My kids loved those. Okay...I have to be nosey (ignore me if you want). Do you mean you turn off electronic devices during school or that you actually school in the dark without electricity???
