My daughter is 10yo and hasn't had much in the way of chemistry or physics concepts and I'd live to just pick up some library books that would start to lay a framework. It's not necessarily chemistry specific, but it explains the scientific theory VERY well. An author with the last name Tocci has written several books about the Periodic Table, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, ect. They may be a little young for her, but very easy to understand. My boys LOVE these! I purchased a blank periodic table for them to fill out as we study the elements and they are drawing the elements like the ones in the book. I recently found one on Rocks too.
