Thanks! I just checked out the samples. I really love this book, we are using PLL for my 8yo and ILL for 10yo. I started with the soft cover which we liked, and later ordered the hard cover versions. I was disappointed to see that the art work wasn't as nice. But the girls didn't see to mind at all. This new version seems like it would appeal to people who like the idea of PLL & ILL, but find it a little too old fashioned. It looks much more modern to me.

For us the hard cover edition is near perfect. It's our one thing that is simple, no bells and whistles required.

Has anyone used the workbook published by Living Books Curriculum?

We are using ILL 1 this year with this workbook. It is nice in that it has a place where my daughter can write her answers. Sometimes we do the lesson orally. Sometimes she would rather type, so we print it out and tape it into the workbook.

We use the ILL workbooks from Living Books Curriculum, and I love them.

My boys have languageartsaphobia :tongue_smilie: and they have been a huge blessing. I have a bit of a CM lean, and these meet all of our needs as well as some of the boy's preferences. (The 12yo does do a seperate grammar-only study in addition.)

The workbook has a lot of white space and is spiral-bound to lay flat. I like that the daily assignments gently connect. For example, they may be reading and researching a subject one day, outlining the next, and then writing from that outline on the following. I love that it gives just the right amount of instruction as it seemed we always found one extreme or another with writing.

I think I gave you more info than you asked for, but we really found a gem in these and will continue through the series.
