McKay
I'm trying to order about 15 different used books. For most of the books, shipping is more than the book price. Is there any site where I could do a book search and figure out which books could be gotten from the same used book dealer? Even getting three or four books from the same dealer would be a savings, if they would lessen the postage. It seems like there must be an alternative to spending $12 shipping for $3 in paperback books. Thanks.
Mothersweets
Yeah, I know what you mean. It stinks that Amazon won't allow booksellers to combine shipping. What I've done in the past is this: as I am looking on Amazon I take note of who the seller is and if I see that they are selling several of the books I want then I go to their own website and purchase from there. I've also used Abebooks.com but I can't remember if they are weird on the shipping like Amazon? HTH :)
hornblower
www.abebooks.com will let you do that & many sellers have discounted rates on the subsequent volumes.
kalanamak
Thriftbooks has changed their format. I don't know what shipping is, but they are a pretty reliable bookseller. I often get a "very good" book that is rated acceptable. The one time I got something below the rating, they let me keep it free.
