asta
Here is my lumbar health reminder for the holidays: remember to wear shoes (with arch support) not slippers while cooking this season. Admit it: we all stumble out in our jammies and slippers, grab some coffee or tea and start cooking. And then we wonder how numerous hours have passed, and why our backs are killing us! That is all. :001_smile: a
OhM
Good advice! I've noticed that flip-flops have the same affect as slippers.
Sara R
Just changed my shoes. Thanks!
asta
And you know, right after I posted this, I stumbled out into the kitchen and started working in my slippers! Doh! I had to laugh - and went and got some shoes... a
melhouse
I love my Crocs Mammoth - they're a slipper, but they don't make me tired. I need a new pair. Well, really just a new liner. Happy Thanksgiving, Ladies!! Melissa
dirty ethel rackham
Gee, now you tell me! Too late. My back hurts already (or should I say "still"?) Yesterday, I decluttered one of th worst rooms in my house - the entrance to my crawl space (a 6 x 10 room.) My back hasn't stopped hurting since then:0 (and I was wearing shoes.) That is all. :001_smile: a Really? I'm glad you let me know that because I spend the whole day in my slippers. In the summer I wear my crocs slippers and in the winter time I wear one of those fuzzy slippers that you get at target. They keep my feet sooooo warm while being comfortable at the same time. Its soo sad to know that it's bad for my back :(
G5052
I was in for my knee (my ankle is bad too, but my knee has gotten unbearable), and he was asking me about when it hurts and what I do that makes it worse. He asked what the flooring is in my kitchen and whether I always wear shoes when cooking. He ended up recommending surgery, but ended up with the admonishment to wear shoes all day and take breaks! Do it!
Mrs Mungo
Hubby and I ran first thing this morning. So, I've been cooking in my running clothes (including shoes) all day. :D

Tam101
Oh now I read this! Actually, my back is fine and my slippers are pretty supportive which is why I bought them. I have planter fachi...whatever it's called. My feet hurt!! But my feet did pretty well. The heal on one is a tad sore, but I can still walk! mrsrevmeg
I usually cook barefoot. Come to think of it, I do pretty much everything barefoot. :D
