Tap
Dd10 and I went shopping yesterday. I was trying on a modern fit cardigan sweater with bone buttons. She says "thats what cool, rich women wear not moms". Apparently, mom's need to stick to the basics and stay away from 'cool'.
buddhabelly
Maybe she thinks that if you get too "cool," you'll go off and look for some cool, rich kids to parent. I had a thin, fashionable mom growing up and I did crave a frumpy one with more bumps and lumps to hug. My mom usually couldn't be hugged because she was all ready to go out, or I might muss her hair. All of this to say......it is a complement to your parenting. Really. :) Julie

MamaT
I recently cut my hair above my shoulders. It's the first time it's been short in about 20 years. My 16yo said, "I like it!" Great, it looks good I thought. Then . . . "You look more like a regular mom." What exactly DOES that mean? I hope you bought the cardigan. I'm growing my hair back out.
