Cindy in C-ville
We are SO excited to see Katya, but overwhelmed with the emotions of leaving the rest of the kids as well. PLEASE be in prayer for us, if you pray. We sense that much is at stake. Even though we are at this point, it doesn't mean the adoption is a "done deal." TIA!!! Harrison_B
Our prayers are with you! What region is Katya located? My younger son was near the Carpathian mountains near Muchekevo. Is this the first time you have been to the Ukraine? If so, enjoy the sights in Kiev - Terri

Margo out of lurking
Cindy, I thought about you earlier this week and prayed, although I didn't know about your upcoming trip. I will definitely continue!
Cindy in C-ville
Our prayers are with you! What region is Katya located? My younger son was near the Carpathian mountains near Muchekevo. Is this the first time you have been to the Ukraine? If so, enjoy the sights in Kiev - Terri No, it's our third time. We've been in Kiev, Rivne, and Odessa. Katya is in Odessa, so our time will be primarily there. We would love to travel to the Carpathian area sometime, but don't think it will happen on this trip. What would you suggest we see in Kiev? We've been to the Chernobyl Museum and walked all around the area with the men playing chess in the park, the "log cabin" cathedral, and the one with the Chernobyl monument in the front. We've shopped at St. Andrew's Descent and been in the cathedral right there. I believe this is right by the SDA. Thanks!

Cindy in C-ville
Thanks, Jean! We drop off the children at 12:30 tomorrow and then fly out of Dulles tomorrow night at 8:00. I have a few more things to do, but for the most part it's coming together. I'll be posting on my blog as I am able. Thanks for all the prayers/support from you all! Pink and Green Mom
Have a wonderful trip! We adopted our two boys in 2005 from Kazakhstan and spent 5 weeks there. We loved our time in country - it was strangely relaxing... We don't live too far from Dulles and my boys are obsessed with 4 engine planes so we'll wave to you from the ground;)! Colleen in NS
What would you suggest we see in Kiev? I don't know if you are interested in missions organizations and their ministries, but my friends, the Hoodikoffs, are the directors of this work: http://www.ywamkyiv.org/
Cindy in C-ville
Definitely, Colleen! I'm hoping we don't have much time in Kiev and we have a friend with whom we want to connect to go to church on Sunday. BUT, if we end up having more time in Kiev than we'd like, I'll definitely look them up. We'll be in Odessa MUCH longer than we will in Kiev. Terrie, we have friends who also adopted from K about that time - a homeschooling mom from C-ville who now lives in TN. Does this ring a bell at all? They were there in the wintertime, but I don't know what month. Feel free to pm me if you want to play a little nametag. :)
