Night Elf
The club chaperone of our homeschool girls club cannot be at the meeting tomorrow because her dd is sick. I volunteered to oversee the meeting so it wouldn't be canceled. So now I'm wondering what we'll do! The girls take turns coming up with a meeting theme. The girl-in-charge is the one who is out sick. At the last meeting, they played board games. I don't know if they would want to play board games again. I doubt they would want to do any kind of craft because of their ages. Any suggestions?
Cera
I bet they would love a craft. Our neighbors have kids that age who come over to hang out sometimes and they have enjoyed making friendship bracelets (all you need is embroidery floss and safety pins) and bead jewelry (seed beads, fishing line or jewelry wire and jewelry clasps). lgm
I stepped in last minute at the library for this age group in summer reading...I did the paper craft called quilling or twirled paper. I used construction paper, cutting it into strips with the library's paper cutter. I used pencils to twirl the strips of paper around and only used the simple shapes of loose roll and tear drop. Night Elf
Thank you! Those look really cool. I didn't realize Klutz made so many different kits. They have beading, friendship bracelets, paper twirling (quilling), and much more. I'm going to go to Barnes & Noble and see what they have in stock. ;)
lgm
Forgot to mention...we made cards with our paper twirls for the seniors at our senior center...if you need an idea for your demo, maybe a card for the sick gal!!

Veritaserum
My 10-yo dd likes crafts. What she's really into right now, though, is cooking. Maybe you could teach them how to cook a simple meal? ETA: Didn't realize this was an old thread. Edited May 9, 2010 by Veritaserum
