Chris in VA
Ds may want to major in Physics. Can't afford much, low GPA due to former issues, but good work ethic, bright math mind, lots of motivation. Ideas for colleges to look at? NE area, preferably VA because of instate tuition. Anyone? creekland
Any chance Virginia Tech is an option? My Physics degree came from there...
Karen in CO
Also look to see if your state school has a guarantee transfer credit program with your community colleges. If so, he could take the first year or two at the CC and go heavy on math and science then transfer into a better school. It is a good route to overcome a poor gpa unless he has really good test scores to help compensate for it.
Jane in NC
Chris, Have you looked at Radford? According to the IPEDS (government stats site), your son's SATs would be fine, the tuition is instate, there are not too many grad students at the school so I think your son would primarily be taught by professors. Any thoughts? Jane
