mombygrace
Hi I'll appreciate any suggestions on literature based history plan that my children could go through independently. They already work on a number of subjects independently. I am looking at history odyssey and biblioPlan ,though I'll gladly consider others. Thanks, Iquo
Sunshine State Sue
We used History Odyssey Middle Ages last year. You may read my review in this thread. It can definitely be done mostly independently.
lisabees
:lurk5: I was thinking of doing SOTW with my 7th grader - haven't read them, since we are new to hs. If anyone has ideas on how to turn them into a 7th grade curriculum, I'll gladly take them! He's a struggling reader, so it may be a good fit. Chris in VA
Mombygrace, here's a good 6th grade booklist. Can't vouch for everything (and surely don't read everything!) but it was posted a long time ago on WTM and I bookmarked it.
Pretty in Pink
TOG is literature based though it strongly suggests weekly, extrememly thorough discussions (30+ min.) and it is a sizable investment. Your student works independently throughout the week and you meet with them at the end of the week to do the discussion. Lisabees, you could use SOTW as a spine and supplement with reading suggestions from the AG or another book list. It's been a few years since I went through TWTM but I'm pretty sure there is an extensive book list in there. There are also great lists available online or you could browse lists from Sonlight, TOG, etc.

katilac
I am using SOTW for my 6th grader, just adding in higher level books for supplemental reading (and I'm off to check that list; thanks, Chris!).
