BlsdMama
Knowing that AAS is rule based (via the other topic thread) and knowing that Modern Curriculum Press' Spelling Workout is the same, putting this together and having used Spelling Workout, can anyone tell me why AAS might be preferable over Spelling Workout? Is it just because it's more hands on?
Emmy
AAS has built in review and dictation - both of which I like. ETA: We went from SWO to natural speller to AAS and finally found our fit.
Lakeside
Knowing that AAS is rule based (via the other topic thread) and knowing that Modern Curriculum Press' Spelling Workout is the same, putting this together and having used Spelling Workout, can anyone tell me why AAS might be preferable over Spelling Workout? Is it just because it's more hands on? Maybe we didn't get far enough into Spelling Workout, but I didn't think that it was rule based. It seemed very arbitrary to me. We switched to AAS and love it. We started at the beginning and it was a very thorough review of the phonics rules my son had learned.
MamaofTwo
We went from SWO to AAS with my oldest. She was struggling with SWO. It didn't seem to emphasize the rules enough for her. She is all about rules! She likes the review of the rules in AAS and her spelling has finally started to improve.
