Jean in Newcastle
Dd7 is starting to get blisters from her gymnastics (bar work). We want to avoid getting grips as long as we can. Is there anything we could put on her hands to protect them (like a lotion)?
vettechmomof2
bag balm. I used it for years after boxing and it was great. Now I use it after karate and kickboxing and on my daughters excema. Works well and is cheap!
Sparkle
I like Silicone Glove from Avon. I used it when I delivered newspapers and my hands would get all dry and rough.
Mom25girls
I'm usually just a quiet reader but I had to chime in on this one. My almost 10 year old just got grips (last week). Her hands were blistery but not too bad until she started doing giants last summer. The bars started eating her hands I think! Bag Balm is AWESOME. Cut the fingers out of a pair of socks and she's good to go! Bag Balm is amazing (pretend that the smell is the smell of progress <g>). Good luck to your daughter!
