Sue in MD
We have been very happy with Saxon Math, but feel that we need a course in geometry which Saxon doesn't have. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what program would be best? I would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks.
Jann in TX
Here is a link It is new so I don't know much about it.. The new 'owners/publishers' of Saxon have taken the integrated Geometry out of the high school texts--so they can market to more 'traditional' schools. Kris in Wis
I've heard Saxon Advanced Math has all the geometry a high schooler would need. My third child wants to do this program in lieu of any strict geometry program, so we are going to try it with her. That said, we went with Jacobs Geometry with my oldest, and Teaching Textbooks Geometry with my second child (she struggled with math, but found TT much clearer - it clicked for her). Both were adequate preparation for college and/or ACT/SAT tests.
Susan C.
Saxon has a Geometry text now, just out.
Stacie in UT
We are going through TT Geometry with the second child and it is great. It is a very well done program.
jubileex5
We have been extremely happy with BJU Geometry (in fact Alg. 1 & 2 also). We use the DVD program. The teacher is terrific. And I don't have to help at all. :)
home2333
I used Jacobs' Geometry, 2nd edition with my son. It was a wonderful exploration of geometry, but it is rather time intensive since the solution manual is not too extensive. Grace
Tina
I'm planning on Jacob's too.

And I don't have to help at all. :) Have you done Geometry recently with the newer teacher? I own Chalkdust, but my daughter has done BJU since third grade. She liked the DVDs for Algebra 1 this year, but towards the end of the year, it went a little slow for her. Does Geometry speed up a little? And, is there calculator instruction and good (but not too much) explanation for proofs? And, did you finish the book? Any other comments? Thanks, Susan
Sue in MD
Thanks to all who took the time to respond! I will check into the suggestions. Again, thanks so much!
Julie in GA
We used Jacob's as well, but the third edition. It has SAT questions and Algebra review questions. I also wish the TM had more detailed solutions, but it's usually enough to set us on the right track.
