stripe
I don't have a recipe, but I think adding glycerin helps with surface tension. Last year I made some with regular dish soap and they were okay but not great. I've purchased some glycerin in advance.
Nestof3
Thanks, I had planned to use glycerin (I had heard that somewhere as well). But, I also saw where some people used sugar, some used Joy or Dawn detergent, etc.

In The Great White North
I used dishwashing liquid, water and a few drops of glycerine. I don't think the brand matters, as long as it's soap and not dishwasher detergent.

Mom2GirlsTX
I know another mom who her kids are bubble fanatics. They blow these huge 2 foot creations. She makes her own with dishwashing liquid and adds 2 ounces of Ky Jelly instead of glycerin. You can find out more from reading this site about bubbles and what works http://homepage.mac.com/keithmjohnson/soapbubbler.com/page2/page8/page8.html
