this winter, Chalkdust BCM, Practical Math book 2, and has started LOF beginning algebra (she loves it). I was thinking about adding some Singapore in to help with the "thinking" math. Question is this: What level should I start her at. She has done 1-3. Should we start where we left off? Thanks for any input. This is my dc that just keeps going with school. Sometimes I try to slow her down but then she gets sloppy and bored so we keep going, as slowly as possible. Oh, we school year round if that helps. :tongue_smilie: Thanks to all, Tani

Would these things cause red flags for you?
Tani replied to Bess's topic in General Education Discussion Board
anymore. If he asks, be honest. (I am not known for my tactfulness in these matters :001_smile:) I would not only follow your instincts, but I would not want my daughter to become so familiar with someone acting so strangly. These are definitly signs that I have been taught at work (YMCA) to watch for in possible offenders. I know that we should live by the innocent till proven guilty but there are times when it is better safe than sorry. Blessings, Tani -
How would your children deal with a five mile walk?
Tani replied to Laura Corin's topic in General Education Discussion Board
of complaints, but mostly, once we get going, we keep going. We have been hiking and backpacking since before they could walk. They are 9 and 12 now. Last summer we did 9.5 miles in Yosemite Park on one of our hikes. We did the Mist trail, which was straight up, and came down the John Muir. We were sorta trying to get to Half Dome, but it was too much for all of us. We just didn't get an early enough start. Kids can go further than we realize, even when they whine alot. Sounds like your kids did just fine :001_smile: Hiking is such a great family activity. Here where we live, we get tired of a normal school day and will take off out our front door and go for hours. We live on the edge of the Cherokee National Forest so we have lots of places to explore. It sounds like you had a great place to hike and a good day. -
Way to go, Cheryl. I am so proud for you. That is a great thing to complete and your time is AWESOME. :D :party::party:

Way Off topic: Sand dollars in San Francisco?
Tani replied to Wildiris's topic in General Education Discussion Board
beach there we found about 1/2 a dozen sand dollars, even found a live one. That was really cool. It was red and fuzzy, soft. Really neat. I didn't realize it was rare to find sand dollars there. :bigear: -

something new comes my way. Of course, now my mind is working on a way to do the straps all in one piece. Hmmmmm. As if I don't have enough to think about:lol: Thanks. -

figured that it meant bo but you never know. One more question, though. How would you attach to the first 10 sts? I have never had to do this without the loose end being there to attach to/with. Thanks. Tani -
Mason Dixon knitting book (Curious Knitters book). I have gotten to the top of the bib to start the straps but I am confused with the pattern. Here is the part I need help with: k10, co20, k final 10 sts. Leave first 10 sts on needle to be knitted later. turn work, k10 sts until strap is 5" LONG. BO. Return to first 10 sts to make second strap. OK, my problem is in seeing why to cast on 20 sts, shouldn't that be BO? Also, how do I get back to the first 10 sts? I have knitted for many years but this one just seems to stump me tonight. I appreciate any advice or help with this. I am going to go to bed right now, will check back in the morning. Oh, the pattern is on page 132-133 in the book for anyone who has it. :001_smile: Thankyou very much.

the YMCA. I teach swim lessons, lifeguard, and get to help with the Homeschool Enrichment program we offer. I also do Medical Transcription part time and data entry part time for the rafting company I work for. It works really well. The kids get to swim and visit with friends at the Y. On my longer days they also bring some school work with them. The other stuff I do from home. During the summer I will throw in some raft guiding trips just to get me out doing something I love :bigear:

so I would really appreciate the number if you have it handy. Sorry I didn't post back quickly. Things here are, um, busy. My mil was diagnosed Fri with malignant gallbladder cancer and the short story is that it doesn't look good. She is 75. I so appreciate the response and the reminder of how good a company Bosch is and I truly appreciate the phone number. Thanks for helping me out, Ladies. :001_smile: -

I ran today and since I am going back to work at the Y I also had to do my 500 meters in the pool. The running was great - 1 hour- but the pool about kicked my u-know-what:tongue_smilie: I do not like to swim laps but it is now going to be part of my weekly routine again. Hey, maybe this will jumpstart some weight loss? Hmmmmmmmm, might not be so bad. I really do not see how you Ladies keep swimming! I admire you for it.

the student edition. I am sitting here looking at it and it really doesn't say 'student edition' anywhere that I have found yet. ISBN# 0-13-054085-4 I wonder if the TM, workbooks, and lab videos would be nice to have? Anyone know? -
