  1. Black Warrior pencils...39 cents for a package of 8 pencils!! Yeah, I finally found them after looking high and low:glare: for the darn things!
  2. Heroes on 9/22/08!! It's our favorite show.
  3. the pencils of choice?? I've been trying to find them, but can't. They're not at my local Target or Walmart stores. Even Staples doesn't have them!! I know these particular pencils were talked about last year as the best around, so are they still the best ones??:001_huh:
  4. I'm at my wit's end here with this school. My son has been a student of their's for a little over a year now and this is the first time that we've been aggravated with them! My son was anxious to be done with their Biology course (quite hard) and thought he was until July 7th. He mailed in exam 7 on that day, even handed it to our mailman personally, but they've never received it! American School received and graded exams 8 and 9, though. I've called 4 times and got the response of, "wait another week" because it's summer and there's a lot of vacations, etc. OK, I understand that, but what about the students who school year round? Anyway, I just called and spoke with yet another woman who told me that there's NEVER been a trace put on this particular exam! ARRRGGGH! My son NEEDS to be done with this course to get credit for it, right?? Hopefully, now something will be done about it. Either it will be found, which I doubt, or he'll have to re-do the whole test again, a more likely scenerio. It seems like the higher the postage rate goes up, the worse the mail system gets. Thanks for letting me rant, gals!
  5. that he needs to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled out as soon as possible! The Dr. showed me the x-rays and his wisdom teeth are growing sideways, pushing bottom and top teeth forward. I'm more nervous about this then him because when I had mine out many moons ago, they got infected and that's when I found out I was allergic to antibotics!! I wound up in the hospital because of the darned things!! Has anyone out there had their wisdom teeth taken out recently? If so, how'd it go?
  6. I remember him on the Ed Sullivan show and when he did the Hippy dippy weatherman...priceless!! He was a comic genius and will always live in my heart. Rest in peace, George. You rock!!
  7. double ppost. I really thought I hit the button only once..honest.
  8. Boston Celtics, huh?? What a game...SWEEEET!! They sure put Kobe in his place!
  9. How HOT is it where you are today?? Here in Massachusetts it's 92 degrees!!
  10. We had to put our 5 yo ferret, Jake to sleep today. He was a very sick little guy since the day we got him, had to be on medicine every day. We brought him to the vet yesterday for an x-ray and discovered he had bladder stones...he couldn't urinate and they took out 30cc of urine to make him more comfortable. My son was hoping for a miracle, but that didn't happen. This morning, Andrew noticed Jake was bleeding out of his rectum and it was all over the cage and bedding...even his brother Max!! What a mess!! Poor, poor thing. He's more comfortable now and he won't have to take that awful medicine any more. We just very concerned about Max as he no longer has a cage-mate. He was running all over the place looking for Jake. RIP little Jake!!
  11. Sonlight route as I absolutely love to read..unlike my son .:glare:
  12. I have to agree with the others on this. It's a VERY eye-opening film.
  13. Today on Oprah the show is about puppy mills. I know it'll be a very sad show, but this is a topic that must be addressed. I'm hoping there will be tips on how to put these evil people and places out of business for good. I'll be watching with a box of Puffs by my side. Please say some prayers for these poor animals!
  14. the corner and haven't tried it yet. So I'm assuming they sell more than just bread there, huh?:o How are their prices, BTW?
  15. I'm from MA and I read your post, obviously. :o Have you looked into UMass Dartmouth at all?? I went there several hundred years ago...LOL and it's a very good school. My son is interested in going there and the tuition is $8500/year without room and board; around $10,500 if you live in the dorms. I think it's a lot less expensive than the one your son was accepted into. UMass DArtmouth has an education major as well. Just a suggestion, BTW.
  16. however, we don't want a puppy from a pet store. Have heard horror stories galor about them, plus they want $1200 for this pup. We've seen breeders listed in the paper for the same breed and they only want $450-600 for a pup! We love animals here and I'd have a zoo if allowed, but $1200 for a puppy is waaay too much for me. Thanks again!
  17. saw the cutest yellow lab puppy in the world!!! My son and I fell in love with him! One thing, we've never had a dog. We've always had cats, hamsters, ferrets. Are puppies a lot of work and are they hard to house-break?? I just don't know about this. All I know is we've been thinking about this pup ever since we came home.
  18. We love Survivor here. BTW, can't wait for baseball to start either. There's been nothing on since the Writer's strike.
  19. Funny, I had that answer but wasn't sure it was right. Silly.;) BTW, I love to solve math problems, too. I guess you and I could be called Math dorks, huh?? LOL!!! Just kidding:p
  20. could you work out number 3 for me? I can't figure out how you got 8 sqr 2/7. Yes, I meant sq root when I said square root radical because my son is working on radicals .....both rational and irrational. He's usually pretty good, but this chapter is kinda tough. Thanks for your help!:D
  21. Here are some problems that my son and I can't figure out. Please help us!! 1. The square root radical of m multiplied by the square root radical of m^2. 2. The square root radical of m^2/n^3 3. the square root radical of 2 + the square root radical of 2/49 4. Write the following into an equation and solve.. One eighth of the square root of 7 less than a number is 2. What is the number? I want to thank whoever solves these problems and I'll offer huge amounts of Chocolate in appreciation!!:p
  22. Heath Ledger, huh? He had it all; the looks and fame.:( So so sad.
