  1. I would look for a nice leather NIrV. It is close to the NIV but has a reading level of about 3-4th grade. I bought a nice pink leather one for my 17dd. It looks and is a "real Bible" but she can read it herself. It is close enough for her to follow along with in church as well.

I would not suggest the NIrV for any doctrinal studies but I know she won't be doing those anyway so it is a good fit. They make many of them with kiddy prints/designs/pictures but you can find them with nice leather covers that look much more adult like.

    Thank you!
  2. Well we had unlimited before they switched to the limited plans, but we only had 3g. Then my hubby got a card saying we could switch to 4g and keep our unlimited!!!! I have absolutely no idea why we got that card. And yes, we could use 200 and not have to pay anything. Do you watch a lot of streaming movies.. Hubby is amazed we use as much as we do.

Wow, that would be awesome. We do watch a lot of streaming movies which is why our usage is so high.
  3. We have 4g and live in the country. Verizon mi fi works REALL REAALY well and we have unlimited. We have around 50 gb usage a month. WE LOVE IT.

Before that we had hughesnet and it was AWFUL and I would have to download things at 3 or 4 am when it didn't count against it. DONT DO HUGHESNET

The thing is we use a lot more than 50 gb. Do you have to pay if you use over 50?

  4. It's not uncommon to break out in hives days after starting an antibiotic, even if you had taken it before with no side effects. This summer my 8 yo was on Amox, which he had been on before, and on the 9th day he broke out in hives and his face/lips/fingers/feet swelled terribly. He had to be on steroids and benedry for days. It took 2 weeks for the hives to go away. I googled it and was surprised to find out how common it was.

  5. If a DC strongly wanted them lined up I'd probably line them up. It's easy enough. Starting where you are chronologically would work just fine. There's no need to start at the very beginning. On the same token, it would be fine to start at the beginning and let them make the connections when they get there. Take your pick. :001_smile:

    Thank you :001_smile:

  6. I am planning on using VP Bible, but I don't know where to start. We were reading the Golden Children's Bible this year but it's been hit or miss. I realize my little ones don't know all the Bible as well as I'd like and I would like to add more depth to what we have been doing. We are up to Jonah in the Golden Bible. Would you recommend we start over at Genesis with the VP cards or try to match where we are as closely as possible? We are doing Ancients this year which is why we are in the OT. We will be using the BP medieval course in the fall and my OCD wants everything to line up. Thanks!

  7. We used to live in Fitzwilliam, a tiny town about 20 minutes south of Keene. The elem. school is great, the jr/sr high not so much. We had 5 acres there and the taxes were reasonable (reasonable for NH that is :p). If we ever moved back I'd look more towards the Peterborough area. Rindge/Jaffrey/New Ipswich, etc. The schools there are great! Peterborough isn't as big as Keene, but is still a decent sized town with some shopping and restaurants.

You can be down into Mass. from any of these areas as well.

I miss looking at Mount Monadnock from my living room for sure!

I second the Rindge & New Ipswich recommendation. We lived in New Ipswich for years and loved it there.
