Wonderful to hear so many husbands are cooking! We had a hamburger rice hotdish.
Working on a menu for the rest of this month and April. Anyone doing that?

Nice to hear there are all those husbands out their cooking!
We had a hamburger rice hotdish and salad.
I've been working on a menu to take me from today through the end of April. Anyone else working on it? Just pulled out a stack of recipes I've saved to try. Will have to fit some of those in tomorrow!

Well, my boys are a bit older, but they play board games, card games, and Wii, Hard to watch movies together with that age difference, tho sometimes the oldest watches one with dd.
As a side note, dd has learned a lot of games at an earlier age than the boys. Oldest has also taught her some of the adult card games like Hand and Foot, but omitted strategies to win. lol She's learned some the hard way. lol

I"m sorry. Hugs and prayers.

I always picked up spring themed items: kites or glider planes, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and the like. Dd still has the pair of white gloves she got one year. And I will confess that one of those math wrap-ups to learn the multiplication tables got in there one year. lol
Oh, and I found one of those little booklets that you rub a pencil over the whole thing to find the picture one year at the christian book store! Check there for some odds and ends, too--bookmarks, a cover for their Bible, etc.

Congratulations! I just went from fulltime+ away from to half time at home again. I am so thrilled to get my life back and be with the kids again! Need to spend lots of time with dd and get her caught up, too. Enjoy!!

The same basket, just like a Christmas stocking.
Yep, the same just like stockings. I still have my childhood basket which I fill for the kitchen table.
There was one year as a kid we were on vacation, so we had brown lunch bags with the tops rolled down a bit. :)

Since the boys don't tend to eat much of their candy, last year I just made a communal basket that was on the kitchen table. I also fill a candy dish or two with M&Ms, so they get goodies. Still hiding a basket for dd since she's only 12.

My mom was 18 when she had me, her first. I was 34 when I had my first. Luckily for mom, my younger sister had her first 2 years before I did. She'd been waiting a long time. :)
So I'm 55 but luckily I have a 12 yr old to keep me going until grandkids arrive!

Back to regular life again now tho. Here's an old February menu from back when I did planning... BTW, that prime rib was a fluke; hasn't been on the menu since that extended family gettogether. :) Off to see if someone started March!

Once asleep, we are done for the night. Sigh. Getting old...
But I have read that setting the alarm to wake up after 90 minutes of sleep can be good timing for a middle-of-the-night teA party.
Actually if he wakes me 60-90 minutes after I'm asleep it's a pretty good time. Lets me get past that exhausted feeling.
Not as common as it used to be! ;)

I've been wanting to ask the same question. I think it's really Men--a-pause. Check back with me later.
Feels like my body's playing a good joke on me/us.
Think I'll ask at the health food store. Or maybe do some more research first.

:grouphug: Adding prayers for you here, too. hang in there.

Boyhood and Beyond, Created for Work, and another by Bob Schultz. Made to read as a daily devotional to take it all it, but wonderful. He was a carpenter by trade, and relates all aspects of christian manhood to his work.

Spaghetti with marinara sauce
Chili
Soft shell tacos
Chicken (or turkey) tetrazzini
Salmon patties are fast
Turkey burgers are fast from the freezer.
Black beans and rice topped with crushed taco chips, chopped onion and tomato are something the kids and I enjoy.
Veggie pizza is something I make for the main dish at lunch sometimes. Dh doesn't eat it, silly man!
Teriyaki marinated chicken breasts
Porcupine meatballs
beef chow mein over rice
pepper steak over rice Mine will eat any 'chinese' food as long as there are eggrolls, which they love homemade.
chicken wild rice soup
split pea soup
navy bean soup
potato soup with bacon bits
pizza hotdish
chicken pot pie
Fajitas. I just saute thinly sliced chicken breast til cooked through. Add sliced onions and red/yellow/orange peppers, sliced, and cook til the peppers are almost soft. Put in tortillas and top with sour cream and a bit of cheese.
Mazetti. Brown ground beef. Saute celery, garlic and onion in some butter while you boil noodles. Mix together with corn and a can of tomato soup plus 1/2 can milk, salt and pepper. Top with cheese and bake, or I cook it together on the stovetop and cover til cheese on top melts.

Well, when I was having that problem, I found exercising, using weights to build upper body strength, too, solved the problem. Must have improved the blood flow. The problem's back after a stressful year, so I need to get moving again.

I'll just let you know that I know a dozen or more women who had babies at age 42 or 43. And your AF is going to jump all over the place.
No hot flashes and sweats here. Just hot feet, and the need to get them uncovered in the morning! :D

My goodness, you're on a roll today Chucki! I've been so good recently avoiding these boards, and now you're making them far too interesting :glare:.
Really! This place is really hopping these days! I've been sidetracked with the widespread flooding in the area (and listening to a big fan drying the basement) for a few days, and whallaa! Boards are filled with l o n g posts!
I'm another 'new posts' thread watcher. Once in a while I'll head to the high school board, but as a rule, new posts it is!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think of the little one I lost years ago sometimes. I have a tiny bear someone gave me at the time, sitting on my shelf as a reminder. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for you and your family. Life can be so unfair.

Wow, has this thread grown fast! Have to come back to read the whole thing. lol I've been around for ever, and have learned a ton here. Pretty quiet person.
I've homeschooled since oldest started 1st grade, and now have 2 graduates and a 12 yo dd that I'm looking forward to focusing on this year. Dh is self-employed in the heating and air conditioning field, and I do office work for him on a part-time basis. I love reading, gardening, and being part of our homeschool co-op team, and am looking forward to doing lots of crafts and such with dd this year.
