  1. Several months ago someone here, I think, posted a link to where these books could be downloaded free. I searched to try and find the post, but couldn't, so I was wondering if anybody knew what the link was. Thanks. Kathy
  2. I usually keep any receipts that have items on it that I might return (for any reason...changing my mind, the item breaking, whatever)...and I put them in a check filing folder (has 12 compartments for made for canceled checks)...and I keep them organized by month for one year...unless I feel like there would be a reason to keep it longer (a more expensive item let's say). Otherwise, I toss.
  3. thank you very much...I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!
  4. OH good....so maybe we can continue to watch them then, huh? thanks.
  5. If you asked them..would they be able to tell me if there are more of those kinds of scenes...or if this was sort of an isolated case?? Kathy
  6. I am not saying that we won't ever watch them...but we may wait a few years...
  7. thanks Carli, I am looking forward to looking at this site. Do you know if the expiration dates are true or not...meaning...with a date of 09/09..do I need to throw my kit away and start again...or will they be ok?? Kathy
  8. I found this set of DVD's on Amazon and snatched them up for a Christmas gift for my kids...the reveiws on here were raving... We sat down to watch them yesterday...a few of them anyway...but after seeing the "tar and fether" process and hearing about the skin coming off when the tar and feather's were removed was enough to give my kids nightmares (literally with my tenerhearted 9 year old daughter)... have any of you expereinced this?? I understand that the shows are based on facts...but I guess we are just not quite ready for these facts. Kathy
  9. I am new to this line of thinking....i bought a kit about 2 years ago...never figured out how to use it...but now I am wanting to try. My first question is: there is an expiration date on the bottle and the date is 9/09..do I need to throw my bottles away and start again??? my second question is: how do I begin to figure out which rememdies to use and when. It is all VERY confusing to me. I have several books, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Is there something wrong with my brain??? Thanks. Kathy
  10. I just find this entire situation an extremely sad one!!!! I used to watch the show when it first came on and thought it was cute and fun. And I find it so sad that the TV media along Jon and Kate, allowed their family to be destroyed for ratings and money. I often wonder if the TV show never happened, if that family would still be intact.
  11. I never thought about that....I guess I need to think it through a little bit more. Thanks for the words of wisdom.
  12. I set up my children's school work (math, phonics, handwriting, spelling) a week at a time. I put it in a binder, divided by days. The kids have been working day by day, but today my older child asked if she could work ahead, on her own to finish out the week. My gut says, to let her...what harm is there in doing that...but I thought I better ask and see what you all have done...is there any reason that I shouldn't let her do that...and her brothers too, if they ask?? Do you then just let the child who has finished all of their work, play, or what??? Do you find other projects to work on?? Please guide me!! Kathy
  13. Does it help to give warnings to leaving...or does that just prolong the agony? Kathy
  14. between Quirkle cubes and the regular Quirkle tiles?? We have the tiles, but not the cubes and i was wondering if the game play is much different. Kathy
  15. that's too bad because I always ask buyers to do it that way so I don't get charged...now what should honest sellers do???
  16. thanks! I appreciate all of the responses...I plan to list them all in one spot...and decide which way to go...but you all have great ideas and I thank you LOTS!!!!!
  17. Is it normal for an almost 8 year old boy to still be wetting the bed more than not? He has been doing this since he was potty trained...and it usually isn't very much, but enough to have to own several pairs of PJ's becasue I can't wash every day...his bed doesn't always get wet...he catches himself (it usually is right before he wakes up).... He has sensory issues if that matters??? Kathy
  18. How do you STOP tattle taling in it's tracks??? I have a 9 year old daughter who is always doing this and it has to STOP....any suggestions.... Kathy
  19. I used to have separate envelopes for each sort of category (food, entertainment, clothing, gas etc)....but it just got WAY too crazy for me because some months we needed more clothing items than others, or we were all sick and needed medicine, etc...so on paper, I have all sorts of categories so I know how much money needs to go into savings, checking or cash. Then we usually use our Discover card for expenses (but we pay it off EVERY month) and as the month goes along, I record how much was spent and when "x" amount is gone....then it is gone for the month....so.....to answer your question...in our home everything is lumped together...including food and toothpaste.
  20. thanks for the information...I just sent her the link to the web sites above...thanks again.
  21. I have a dear friend who has a 5 year old daughter that was just recently dianoised with type A diabetes. My friend feels so alone with trying to completely change over their diets...she has also just started homeschooling her twin 5 year olds (her daughter is one of the twin girls) and she also has an 18 month old, active son. I am writing this becasue if there is anybody out there who can relate to her struggles with the diabetes thing (I can't relate, so I am no help to her), and wouldn't mind emailing with her, would you please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!!! Kathy
  22. thanks everybody....now I have somethings to ponder.
  23. yes, but was there a year 0? I always thought that there wasn't a year 0, but rather it started with 1...year 1-10 was the first decade and so then the 11-20 would be the next....so 2001-2010 is a decade and 2011-2020 would be the next. But I don't claim to know it all...so I am sure there are other who have a differing thought. Kathy
  24. I had never heard of Stare Jr (actually thought it was a typo)..and pictureka was one of the games we are returning...we have it and love it. thanks for the ideas.
