  1. Does anybody know, is he doing another show soon..or was last nights the last one??
  2. We like them. They aren't fancy or entertaining, but my kids prefer them over me reading the material...and I prefer them over me reading too...I butcher the names of people and places. I stop the CD on occasion to ask questions or repeat information. But the kids do like them.
  3. what is the difference and if you would pick one, which one and why?? Kathy
  4. What grade/age level is this program really geared for? It seems like it is pretty high math...does it at all cover maultiplication and division...or does it assume that was covered in another program? I think my daughter would really like the reading part of this program, but I am not sure if she is ready for the concepts yet. Is there another program like it, but is for more like a 3-4th grade level? Thanks.
  5. yes, but what do I NEED to buy...those are all wonderful options, but I can't afford everything they have to offer, so what books do I need to effectively teach to my 9, 8, and 5 year old?? Thanks. Kathy
  6. so, would I need more than this: Details for Trail Guide to World Geography (014495) - Rainbow Resource Center, Inc. or will this do it for me???
  7. thanks for bumping me...I was really hoping someone could tell me if it was a good game or not.
  8. Around the World: The Ultimate Global Board Game!, Around the World Games, LLC. - Barnes & Noble can someone give me a review
  9. I would like to know this too. And what foods are rich in magnesium? Kathy
  10. Does anybody teach geography as part of their curriculm? I am considering this: Amazon.com: Galloping The Globe (Geography Matters) (9781931397384): Loree Pettit, Dari Mullins: Books anyone use this??
  11. I am considering adding Geography to my day with the kids and thinking about this book: Amazon.com: Galloping The Globe (Geography Matters) (9781931397384): Loree Pettit, Dari Mullins: Books has anybody here used it and what is your opinion. Or is teaching Geography something that I should feel compelled to do. We are doing SOTW for History (if that matters) Thanks.
  12. really little....I just put im under a bush in the neighbors yard...I hope that is ok
  13. we live next to the church where my husband is Pastor and he found the bunny in the middle of the parkling lot...so I don't think putting him back there is a good idea..but I don't know...
  14. my son just found a baby bunny by our house and we aren't sure what to do with him...other than keeping him, what should we do...where is a good place to put him so the neighborhood cat doesn't get him...
  15. Do the tests cover all subjects or just the 3 R's...I ask because if my kids are asked questions about "social studies" they will probably fail, but if they are asked about Ancient Times they would do much better...and what about Science...what if we haven't covered the subjects that they test over...then what???
  16. Our state doesn't require us to test the kids...but I was wondering if there would be any reason I should do it anyway...do any of you test your kids yearly or every couple years, just because?
  17. you could easily wait until you have a 7 and 4 year old (approx) or you could go on and do SOTW next year. I know that doesn't really help...other than to say that either way you go, would be fine. If it were me, I would wait. I started my 4 year old in SOTW (along with a 7 and 8 year old at the time) and we did things like Aubrey did. A 4 year old would more likely "cooperate" with the process better than a 3 year old. So that leaves to open as to what to do next year...READ, READ, and READ...historical fiction and non fiction books...if you do that, you will be doing more than any school...at this age all they do is "social studies"...which include VERY LITTLE history (in my expereince anyway). Hope that does help some.
  18. thank you very much for all of these...I really appreciate it. Kathy
  19. Hello. I have never posted on THIS board before because my oldest is only 9, but it was suggested that I come here for some ideas...so here I am...I hope that is ok. Anyway, I am in the process of making a photobook/words of wisdom book for a dear gal who is graduating High School this year. I am looking for any and all Bible verses and saying of wise words to add to the book. If you have anything that I might use, I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!!!! Kathy
  20. this thread has had way more responses than I had hoped for too...I am thrilled and pleased with that...thanks so much for helping me out.
  21. can you trust a company like Oscar Mayer to be honest with their packaging...or are they just jumping on the organic, all natural band wagon. Just wondering. Kathy
