  1. Our family has loved Kris from the start! So happy he won.
  2. Great! As long as it's not associated with the bad yeast, it might be worth a try. Thanks to all for the info.
  3. I recently read an article about a woman who was able to avoid thyroid medication for an underactive thyroid by supplementing with brewer's yeast. Is this the yeast that causes yeast infections or yeast overgrowth? In other words, might you be bringing on another problem in an attempt to nourish the thyroid or is this Brewer's Yeast something different altogether?
  4. Thanks for the input! Does anyone know how universities treat such online credits?
  5. Would appreciate any experiences you have had with either ILO or the Ontario Virtual High School. I'm thinking of having daughter sign up for a couple of high school courses but am interested in any input from those who might have already given them a try. Thanks!
  6. That would be terrific. We'll see how far we get (or don't) with the physics and the spreadsheet before we impose on you. Thanks again!!!
  7. My daughter has to do a spreadsheet for some speed and velocity problems in her physics book. While we both understand the questions, I have absolutely no knowledge regarding spreadsheets and can't help her out in that department. Any links to websites or books detailing how to set up these sheets would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Amazing probiotic. Whole Foods carries it and you can check their website to find who sells it in your area.
  9. Could be hormonal or thyroid related (hyperthyroid). Could also be a response to food additives like msg(in nearly everything), fd&c#5(tartrazine), food coloring, caffeine. Liquid magnesium is fast acting and is an absolute must to have in the house when you suffer from palpitations.
  10. Bio-K is a fantastic supplement for tummy issues. It contains the same friendly bacteria as yogurt but in much higher concentrations. Amazing natural product and I am never without a supply in my fridge.
  11. I've had a terrible time with my cycles over the past year. Shorter intervals between periods over the past couple of years which culminated this past spring in a cycle with terribly heavy bleeding lasting over a month and awful clots. Had a D and C which found thick uterine lining and dr. said I have too much estrogen relative to progesterone. He prescribed progesterone and after three months things are still sorting themselves out. I do think stress plays a huge role in these problems since it depletes the adrenals which in turn reduces progesterone output.
  12. Thanks. Guess I'll have to get busy too. I just hope my printer doesn't crash!
  13. Well, I thought that the subscriptions that we've already paid for included the supplementary materials and, therefore, we should have access to everything until the end of the subscriptions. They did say that they would honor the subscriptions so I assumed that this included everything paid for. Do you print everything out or just save? My next selection was going to be Biology as well.
  14. I, too, was disappointed to hear that the company wouldn't be offering their subscriptions any longer. I thought, however, that current subscriptions would be honored until our order expired. Are you certain that we have to download EVERYTHING by the 10th?
  15. This is all very helpful info. Have any of you heard anything about virtualhighschool.com?On principle, there's no way I'd cough up the high fees for this in addition to the hefty property/education taxes I've been paying for the last 8 years but I'm interested in what sort of rep it has. As taxpayers in Ontario, we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get our kids enrolled in online/distance programs.
  16. This is very helpful information. Thank You! What drawbacks are there to accessing the publicly funded online courses? Will I have to answer to an administrator at the board level if I go this route?
  17. I am concerned about university admission in Ontario for homeschooled kids. Do any of you have experiences that you would care to share? Have any of you used online schools in order to have an official transcript to make the admission process any easier. I would be grateful for any advice you can offer.
  18. Thank you so much! I didn't consider the symmetry of the midpoints at all.
  19. This one has me stumped and I need someone's expertise. "The base of an isosceles triangle lies on the x-axis. The coordinates of the midpoints of the equal sides of the triangle are (2,3) and (-2,3). What are the cooridnates of the vertices of the triangle?" Please help me out.
