  1. Hmmm... what are you seeing?

In my signature, I have the"regular" emojis because I put them in from my desktop computer.

I will try to figure out how to post a screenshot.

And apologies for the unintentional hijack! Interesting that we may not all be seeing the same things! But it doesn't sound like it's even the difference between how Gmail and iMessage shows the same emoji in slightly different form...

I can't see the eye roll or thoughtful guy (they don't appear on my screen at all, not even distorted), but I can see the other ones.

    Don't apologize! I  :001_wub: meandering threads.

ETA: The other three emojis appear to me just as they are in your screen shot.

  2. I was going to say eyeroll, but we have that.  I think I want the eyeroll emoji for my texts.  I could make good use of that.

Didn't we used to have a queasy vomit guy?

I want a fistbump.  That would be good. I'm sure we could retire this guy to make room.  :hat:

Has anyone else ever used this guy ever?

    LOL!  I mean, .

We still have the queasy vomit guy, I think:  :ack2: . Or did you mean a guy who is *actually* vomiting?

I've often been puzzled over this guy  :hat:, as well. What does he MEAN? What is he FOR? Is he, like, a Cat in the Hat guy, or a guy looking for a party, or what?

I like the fist bump idea.  :thumbup1:

  3. Imagine the poor ADHD people trying to remember toilet paper for that bathroom!! Oh, the poor dears! (There was a thread about ADHD people saying they can never remember to replace the TP.). Imagine trying to remember to grab some before going AND to change out rolls afterwards! It's all too much.

[ETA: I have ADD tendencies myself and am not mocking anyone! But toilet paper really must be within reach.]

  4. :seeya: Obviously I have no authority to actually make anything happen here, but if you could add new emojis to our smiley menu, what would they be?

    I'd like to see:

    A cupcake

A glass of wine (right now I have to make do with the beer-clinking guys)

    A bar of chocolate

    (are you sensing a theme?)

A mushroom cloud (for threads destined to explode)

    A white flag of truce

Something to represent "no snark intended" (snark inside a red circle, with a red line across it?)

Something 80's, just because I love the 80's (big hair emoji? break dancing emoji?)

    A peace sign (of course)

    Any other ideas?  :bigear:

  5. Here are some recommendations from my husband :)  These aren't his favorite songs, musically, but the lyrics are appropriate. I  :001_wub: my man. He says:

"Radioactive†is definitely apocalyptic.  The original by Imagine Dragons is good (we have that album) but I actually prefer the cover by Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling found here:

“It’s the End of the World†by R.E.M. is a little too obvious :)

“Sleep Now in the Fire†by Rage Against the Machine isn’t apocalyptic, but it does remind me of the election quite a bit.  I just re-watched the video and at 1:04 you can see someone holding a “Trump for President†sign — for the 2000 election!  Here is the video (interestingly made by Michael Moore):

Here are some lyrics from Linkin Park’s “Wretches and Kingsâ€:

There's a time, when the operation of the machine becomes so odious
Makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part
You can't even passively take part
And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels
Upon the levers, upon all the apparatus
And you've got to make it stop

The election also makes “Lies Greed Misery†by Linkin Park a little too appropriate:
.  The song kind of sucks (OK, it does suck) but it’s hard to argue with these lyrics:

I wanna see you choke on your lies
    Swallow up your greed

Suffer all alone in your misery

[i feel like I should say that my husband is actually very gentle and kind. He doesn't suffer fools lightly, though.]

You might also like these lyrics from Linkin Park’s song “Hands Held High†about the war in Iraq.

  6. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears

"I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" by Hall and Oates

"Stuck With You" by Huey Lewis and the News

"Mo Money Mo Problems" by Notorious B.I.G.

    "Jump" by Van Halen

"Let's Go Crazy" by Prince (I might write in the purple banana at this point.)

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2

"Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood

Extra props for all the 80's songs!  :coolgleamA: <-----(these are being worn at night, of course)

  7. Well, maybe a few hymns are in order:

"When All The World Was Cursed" comes to mind.

Or the second verse to Praise the Almighty, My Soul Adore Him, which reads:

Trust not in princes; they are but mortal

Earthborn they are, and soon decay.

Naught are their counsels at life's last portal

When the dark grave doth claim its prey.

Since then no man can help afford,

Trust ye in Christ, our God and Lord!

    Alleluia, alleluia.

Amen. â€œI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.â€

This Is My Song (A Song of Peace) would also be very appropriate, I think.
