  1. So on top of our daughter having cancer, our marriage is falling apart. My husband refuses to go see someone to help us through this terrible time. It is not that he thinks things are great - he just wont go because "he was pyschoanalyze too much as a kid & doesn't want to go through that again EVER."

I am starting to see someone today. I do not believe in divorce & believe that we CAN get through this somehow - we just need someone outside the situation to help us through.

Thanks for listening..just needed to vent

  2. I am looking for a group gift for my children - a playmobil set. I have a 4, 5, 10 yo boys & 6 yo girl. We already have knights & pirates. Any thoughts?? What are your favorites? I am leaning towards the Egyptian set. Where is the cheapest place to buy playmobil???

Any other thoughts for a group gift besides playmobil. I am all :bigear:

    Thanks!

  3. Okay.. I thought I was very good at grammar but this book is even kicking my butt...We are on lesson 30 - substantives...I am really needing a something else to help my daughter grasp this concept..something with more practice - I thought of ordering Abeka grade 7 grammar. Anyone have any great websites for extra practice???

    Thanks!

  4. Okay...my children simply will NOT play outside. They are 12, 9, 5, & 4. They tell me "There is NOTHING to do." I have chalk, jump ropes, bikes, bubbles, stomp rockets, construction toys, and more. We just moved to the country and they have a large pasture out back to play in. They have always been monitored with their TV, computer times so I don't feel like they don't know how to play - they simply won't play outside.

    Any thoughts???? :bigear:

  5. Our daughter is 5 years old. She was diagnosed on Dec 24, 2009 with Wilms Tumor, a rare pediatric kidney cancer. To make matters worse in the rare category, her tumors spread to her lungs. She had NO symptoms until Nov 2009 when we thought she had a urinary track infection. Fast forward to TODAY - Monday is her supposed last treatment with chemo IF her lung lesions are all gone THEN we are done with chemo IF not we are looking at more chemo & possibly a stem cell transplant.

All this to say, please, please support CureSearch. http://www.curesearch.org The child you save may just be your very own.

    You can read Hannah's story @ http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ourbanana

  6. My son who is 9 had his second CBC last Friday & again his white blood cell count was very low 4.8... He shows no signs of sickness or infection. His platlets were on the lower end 275.. Hemoglobin normal 13.5... We already have one daughter who is 5 who has been diagnosed with Wilms Tumor. SO I am freaking out...we are waiting to hear when his appt will be with the hemotologist.

Anyone have children with low white blood counts??? Anyone???

  7. Got call Monday afternoon from bank that they can not complete the loan for the house we were suppose to close on Monday for. They didn't realize it was a manufactured home & appraiser of course noticed when went out to complete apprasial. We informed them from the beginning what type of home this was. SO now we don't have a home.

To make matters worse, we rented out our current home because it hasn't sold in this lovely market & renters are moving in next Friday.

So I don't have a home to move into, I don't have my unsold home to live in & there is NO where to go. We live in VERY rural Kansas - there is nothing available.

Don't have a clue when we will be starting school, just need desperately to find a place to live with all our animals.

OH THE JOYS OF HOME OWNERSHIP:glare:

  8. 30 miles in Kansas = 30 minutes for communte. No rush hour/traffic in the middle of nowhere

DH has NEVER commuted for a job in his life. When we were 1st married and I did work, my commute was 30 miles = 30 minuted and I did this for 1.5 years.

There are NO other houses to consider. These are the only two that are available that would fit our family. There are no rentals available at all, unless I want to live with cochroaches and I simply can't live in a slum because I have a very immune compromised daughter.

Just so frustrating....I just want to scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. One house is 30 miles from his work (the one I want). Other house is 1 mile from his work (the one he wants).

I was the one who applied for the loan, called the insurance agent & have done ALL the leg work for the home. He "doesn't have time" because he is at work.

Yes, I have ALWAYS wanted a horse. I realize it may never come true - sure would be nice though... (oh, and I never said dh promised it to me...just always has been a dream of mine since I was 5 and rode my whole childhood other people's horses but never my own...)

One toliet (his choice) compared to 3 toliets (my choice) with 9 people in the home. =)

  10. We have been preapproved for a home loan! YEAH!! BUT now dh has decided he wants a different house than what we discussed & applied for.

    Houses are the same price..

Houses are in two different towns and hubby would have to commute 30 miles each way 6 days a week.

One is in the country - one is in town. (I have waited my WHOLE life for a horse..)

One is slightly larger than the other...

So do I submit & simply buy the house, I really don't like since I am not the breadwinner & I don't have the daily drive (though I will have drive time for EVERYTHING else in our life)

How have you sorted this out before????? We are at a point just to disagree about everything.

  11. I saw someone had a plan for their child to "cook through a cookbook". Please let me know how you may accomplish this.. Will you cook everything in the book? What is the cookbook you are using?

I have a 7th grader and I think this would be great for her to do!

    Thanks
