Are the classical conversation sentences for the new foundations guide (edition 4) different than the old edition three? I know they've switch to their own cards instead of Veritas Press cards & their own timeline song but I was wondering if the history sentences/songs changed.

You choose ONE of the SID- either A, B or C depending on your children's ages but you move through all SICC in order (unless you're starting with older children). Personally, I'm glad we did the SID first because SICC picks up where SID left off. If you skip SID, look online & see what it covers before beginning SICC.

We did SID-A earlier this year & then moved right not SICC-A, which transitions well. My children are ages 12 (almost 13), 11 & 9. I plan on doing a theme early next yer before moving on to SICC-B because of their ages.

We use it along with the writing. I usually make up my own sentences to copy, pulling from other subjects they are learning. For one of my children, it sonetimes moves roo slow in concepts but for the otherchild, its perfect! :) But I love PAL & I'm glad we have both!

I'd see a dr right away! And, I'd buy & use IEW's PAL reading & writing. We used Phonics Pathways for our first 3 children with ease. Child #4 had each issues & struggled with PP. Really struggled & I was lost what to do. I was skeptical of starting PAL but IEW has 100% lifetime guarantee! It was the BEST choice I ever made! I wish all of my children had used it- it's more than reading, it's a complete language program! :) Of course we adjusted the program for our family- after a few weeks, my two children using it were ready for much greater depth copywork.

I found & bought the older CC guide & 3 CDs here. I wanted the older versions because we are using the Veritas Press cards.

Agree with the above- just plan a certain time each day & then open the book and teach. Be sure to read the bottom teacher instructions & use manipulatives before doing a workbook page. That's the MEAT of the program! Mine are almost done with A & B and it's been less than a year. We added in flash cards for numbers, calendar & skip counting.

Dropping level 6? Will they add more to the other levels? Are they still planning on just changing levels 1-3 this year? We own standards, so I'm buying up what we don't have before Singapore changes it. Errr! I'm interested to hear feedback because vie wondered the same question about level 6!

Can you share what's in the teacher manual? Is it similar to the homeschool guide? Does it give specific lesson plans with examples to teach?

Is there no homeschool guide? I loate the idea of teaching this without one- they ave been n valuable up till this point! :( Any tips from those of you who teach level 6 without a guide? We plan on dong VideoText after level 6... I wonder ifi could skip level 6.... My dd, bless her heart, struggles with math...

We are 3 lessons away from finishing SWI-A. My eldest 3 are using it- age 12, 10 & 8 (1 girl & 2 boys). I owned TWSS for years but wasn't consistent with implementing it until I bought SWI. Love it! :) TWSS is educating me (watch the DVD that cordinates with the unit in SWI) whie SWI does all the planning for me. :) I ordered SICC-A next. My goal is to implement TWSS into everyday life. We also use WWE (usually 2 lessons a day- recently, we were just doing dictation) & my eldest is using WWS. I think both Bauer & Pudewa have merit, so I like combining both. But my children enjoy Pudewa better. I think I've learned more on how to teach writing from IEW.
