  1. It's on my PC, not a phone. What's a browser? (sorry-I should prbly know that!) Zoobie-where are you clicking the load more button? The round one at the bottom of the first page? If so, after you click that, did you scroll down to see if it goes further than just a few more rows of photos? AGH-why can't I scroll indefinitely anymore after clicking the Load More button? It's happening on every public IG account I try.
  2. I don't "follow" anyone on Instagram, but I like to look on some public fitness IG accounts and have a few I really like. All of a sudden though, I can only look at the first page that comes up. Then at the bottom, the "Load more" message comes up, and when I click on it, it only shows about 4 more rows of pictures and then just ENDS. No more "Load more" messages come up-it just ends. I used to be able to just scroll down indefinitely. It is happening on all the public accounts I try. What happened? Is this a problem w/ IG, or something new IG is doing, or is there something I can do to fix it? THANKS for any help!!!! Here is an example of one-does it happen to you too, or can you keep scrolling? https://www.instagram.com/macro_gal/?hl=en
  3. I guess I should also ask-for whatever suggestions you give-could you please mention price, if you happen to know it? And is the phone included, do we pay monthly, etc? Thank you SOOOO much! (3 ladybugs-No, we won't be moving overseas)
  4. I've always just had a tracfone and am finally getting an iphone! I'm going to be out working this year (instead of home) so I really need something good, and I want the good camera, etc. So which is the best all-around plan or deal for an iphone plus the minutes for it? I guess I'd want unlimited talk, text and data. Also, my daughter *may* be getting one too, so is there a plan that would be better to do if we were getting two phones instead of one? Because we'd want to know that now, if there is a deal that we could do to get TWO iphones/plans at a better price than one. But if there's nothing like that out there, that's ok, I really most need info for one iphone and a plan. We won't have money to keep updating the iphone version though-will that be a problem? Am I doing the right thing to go w/ an iphone? My husband has a nice Samsung Galaxy (I think) from work-is there any reason I should pick something like that instead of an iphone? Thanks for any and all help on this!
  5. It's at home, but we want to make it fun with some great party games! There will be about 14 girls.
  6. Shoot, I forgot to mention we're doing that as a readaloud right now-lol! Thanks! That's exactly the type I'm talking about though!!!
  7. He never liked reading very much, but is doing a little better now with liking it. BUT I have to get books with lots of adventure-lol. Lately he has read and liked books like Tom Sawyer and Call of the Wild. He was actually picking them up by choice to read in his free time (!!!!!!!!) and did very well with the vocabulary in them, surprisingly! I know reading books on this level will help develop his vocabulary (which is pretty dismal from being a late reader). I need to get him up to par over this next year and a half before high school. So now I'm looking for other fairly quick moving classics with lots of adventure so I can keep him supplied. The adventure is what holds his attention to get him through the book! NOTE: We listened to King Arthur and Robin Hood (unabridged) on CD within the last year, which now I wish we hadn't, so he could read them! (I asked-he doesn't want to read them again so soon-he remembers all of it.) Thanks so much!!!
  8. I am sooooooo happy I started this thread-so many wonderful ideas! Can't wait to try them! And please keep the ideas coming-it sounds like it's helping a lot of us!
  9. On top of hs'ing, I just took on two part-time jobs, plus driving teens around to activities, etc. I have ZERO time to make meals during this season of my life, so I'm looking for lowest possible prep time meals (crockpot or otherwise) that are still healthy! (Husband has heart issues) Most quick things I am finding online are really unhealthy (cheese, etc) I really appreciate any help-thanks!
  10. Wondering if anyone knows where to get an errata sheet for Saxon Geometry? I need help figuring out where the errors are in the book and Solutions Manual! Thanks!
  11. I am trying to wade through all the online info about these to find a great brand, and wondered if anyone had already done this legwork and come up with what they felt were the best brands for these? Thanks!
  12. We didn't get to these at the end of the Algebra 1 book, and she is going on to Geometry in co-op. (Note: We will do a complete review of Alg 1 next summer, including learning these topics, before she starts Alg 2.) Will not knowing these topics hurt her at all in Geometry? (It's Saxon Geometry) Thanks!
  13. So far I have countries/capitals, states/capitals, US Presidents.... what else could we do? thanks!
  14. I can't find much online. There is a lot out there for Volume 1 (notebooking pages, project ideas, etc.) but not Volume 4. Thanks!
  15. There is a lot out there to go along with Volume 1 (notebooking pages, project ideas, etc.) but not for Volume 4. Thanks!
  16. Dd is doing Foerster's and we're almost done except for the last two chapters-one chapter is Inequalities and and one chapter is Functions. She needs to finish by early Sept so she can start geometry in co-op. Foerster's goes into SO much detail on these two topics and I want to cut it back to only what she needs to know so we can get done quickly. So I borrowed Saxon Algebra 1 2nd edition from a friend. Can anyone please tell me what lessons I need to cover to give her the basics about Inequalites and Functions? I am not math savvy so I have no idea. I do know Saxon breaks concepts up so we'll have to cover several lessons to get the whole thing, that's fine, I just need to know what chapters we need to cover! And any preliminary skills she may need-for example, I see Saxon covers Domain by itself in one chapter, and I think she'd need to know about that to do functions, right? HELP please!!! I would appreciate it soooo much!
  17. Disclaimer: didn't read the other responses :) I am a lover of MCT Town, used it with two children who have very different learning abilities, and also used the vocab (CE 1 and 2) in co-op class. BUT I cannot recommend it for inclusion in WTM as a complete curriculum. Here are a couple random thoughts since I just have a minute: 1. CE 1 and 2 are excellent for vocab-should absolutely replace current WTM recommendations for elementary age. It is engaging and interesting. My high schooler still remembers her CE words all these years later! And most importantly, MCT did extensive research to come up with the words-they are the most commonly used words in British and American lit. They are not just random words, but words with a high rate of occurrence in lit. Note: several of my co-op students had leaps in their testing for vocab the year they did CE with me. 2. We love how the vocab is strewn throughout the other Town level books-great for retention. 3. Town level grammar is excellent as a supplement. 4. CONS: WAY too much repetition between levels, too many errors, may be difficult for some parents to teach 5. my overall opinion-MCT as a complete curriculum should appear in WTM as a (highly recommended) supplement only. I am a firm believer in systematic grammar education, with diagramming. On that note, I'd like to put in a vote for Hake Grammar-excellent-it is like R+S but with spiral review, so my kids found it to be much better for retention than R+S. I really think you would like it if you check it out.
  18. Thank you SOOOOOO much for sharing! I ordered it (w/ the discount code-thanks for that too!) I have been literally praying for something like this bcuz dh can't stand fragrance and I couldn't find anything to get the stink out of workout clothes that wasn't fragranced!
  19. In the "Name a retail establishment..." thread a few days ago, I was very surprised at how many people mentioned Starbucks as a great place to work. I am trying to learn why it's thought of as such a favorable workplace-does anyone know the reasons why? Also, if you know, do they pay well? I am hoping to get work from home of some type, but Starbucks seems low key enough for me (medical issues) that I could work there, so I'm trying to learn more! THANKS!
  20. I DESPERATELY need to work, but I have to work from home due to medical issues. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with legit online work from home companies, and if you could tell me about your experiences (positive or negative)? Like how was the starting pay, did it take awhile to get into making more money, what the hours were like-anything at all would be so helpful-thanks!
  21. But I forgot to have her do PE in 9th grade (and retroactively, I don't think she did enough to make a half credit), so now I have to squish the hours into three years. Also, how do you all put their summer PE into their credit hours? We finish our school year on the typical school calendar, so I don't know how I could put summer PE in there.
  22. Thanks so much-it has to be two full one-credit courses, so that's a lot of hours :( I guess I will have to start her walking and doing exercise videos, and maybe biking, and have her track her times. I like your writeup, Karen, and will probably do something like that-thanks! Still open to hearing others' ideas!
  23. Thanks so much! Lori, when are you going to write a book for homeschoolers? You NEED to do that!!!!! You are a wealth of information-thank you!
  24. Here in NY we need 2 units for high school :( I'd love to hear what you did, and also how you wrote it up on your reports-thank you so much!
