Ds can't get contact out of his eye
Bilby replied to Remudamom's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Years ago I had a soft lens 'stuck' on my eye. I used copious amounts of eye drops and tried and tried and tried to pick up the lens with my fingers. My eye was hurting like you wouldn't believe, but still the lens would not come out. It turned out that the lens had come out and fallen onto the floor where I couldnt see it and I was actually picking up the surface of my eyeball. Just make certain that this is not happening now. After that, flush the eye with lots of drops/saline, place a finger side-ways under the lower lashes and push the whole lower lid up against the eye. If the lens is there, this will push the lens up so it can be seen and grasped easily. If there is any redness on the eye I wouldn't use lenses for 24hrs to allow the eye to heal. -
Dragon-theme birthday party -- I need ideas, please!
Bilby replied to Stacia's topic in General Education Discussion Board
If you look on the internet for activities for St David's Day, Welsh dragon crafts etc you will find quite a few ideas. If you have time and money, you may be able to find dragon emblems from a celtic type store. -
Remote Internet Access Question...
Bilby replied to specialmama's topic in General Education Discussion Board
When I made enquiries about it with people who know computers they were all adamant that it would be a very risky venture to undertake. I was told that the other person would be able to access my computer files. How I don't know, but the neighbour was quite a computer geek and would know how. And yes, as the account holder, I would have taken legal responsibility for all use of my account. My computer would be carted away for examination if anything untoward was traced to my ISP. But I'm in Australia, so this may not be the case there, but it probably is. -
My 1 year old has been snuffy for 2 months

Sinusitis - inflammation of the lining of the sinuses - can occur after a bad cold. This is easily treated with antibiotics. My son had constant congestion and sleep apnea when he was young and required tonsils and adenoids out. Pam. -
I think that we will go ahead with this. We are in Austalia, so our summer trips are over Christmas/new year, but the mission would probably be quite valuable to them. Pam.

Is anyone familiar with Teen Missions International? I have been thinking that this might be a good experience for my teen boys. Have your experiences been good overall, would you recommend it? Thanks, Pam.

to both of you! Pam.

Has anyone used this or any other online bookmark organiser? I would really like to organise everything according to school subject and other categories, and preferably be able to insert bookmarks into more than one category. Boomark Tracker is free, but I wonder whether there is any down side to using this. Thanks, Pam.

Could someone please link me to a lab report proforma for chemistry. I would really like something on a college level as we may need to save the reports for an admissions process. Thank you, Pam.

Teaching Company Classes on DVD's?
Bilby replied to Jules's topic in High School and Self-Education Board
On 01/18/09 brendafromtenn posted a correlated schedule of Apologia and Teaching Co Chemistry. She got this from someone else, as she explains, but unfortunately, I don't know how to link to another post (or how to quote apparently), so: (Quote) got a schedule right here on the good ol' WTM board. "Tina in Ouray" posted this. I think she may have gotten it from "Susie-Knits"....Or the other way around, but either way, I printed it out and it has worked great. Here is what we used: Module 1/ TC Lectures 1-6 Module 2 Module 3 Module 4 Module 5 Module 6/TC Lectures 7-16 Module 7 Module 8 Module 9 Module 10/TC Lectures 27-29 And TC Lectures 17-19 Module 11/TC Lecture 30 Module 12 Module 13 Module 14 Module 15/TC Lectures 20-26 Module 16 Sorry about my lack of technical skills. how can I tame my piglets?
Bilby replied to Denisemomof4's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I think that really, if you have big pigs, you need to treat them as livestock rather than as pets. If you have only one pig, it would probably bond with you, and so be more responsive. But since you have a few, it will be more difficult to have them 'obey' you, and just go back into their stall. You might actually have to apply the stick (or a length of garden hose). Honestly though, a pig is highly amenable to food-based bribery. Try feeding them after mucking out the stall, rather than before. That way they will go straight back in for their food (or maybe some other food, such as some apple). Good luck, Pam.
