This was mentioned on the Thread below about what your favorite science curricula and I was curious if I had googled the correct science explorer. Is this the book from Phschool.com or the science experiments book from Amazon? Or is it something else all together? Thanks

It just isn't getting in their brain as I had hoped. I mean GWG repeats new information throughout the workbook, but maybe just not enough for my 2. My children can diagram a sentence one day perfectly then the next day it is put the subject any where you want and verbs on the modifier line. They forget so quickly.

Where can I look at this? Is there a website? Is it just a book of experiments or is it actual teaching?

Do you teach GWG or do you let your children read from the book and then they ask questions if need be. I love this curriculum but my children aren't thriving with it.

I am wanting to supplement grammar next year with GWG 5. My kids are 9 and 11 5th and 7th grade next year. I only do grammar now on MWF, so next year I was thinking of doing GWG MWF and supplementing with one of the following on TTH. Junior Analytical Grammar FLL 4 Intermediate Language Lessons Or Writing Tales (or should I do this regardless of what I else I use.) Do any of you supplement GWG and if so with what? Thanks

your son, 9yrs, old tells you that he doesn't think he isn't getting an education? He told me the things he wants changed and oh my has he put me in my place. I feel that I don't need to be his teacher. I feel like he needs more of a challenge. How would you feel? What would you do? I wish this school year was over. 11 more long weeks, UGH!

I have been so caught up with planning for next year I forgot my American History curriculum runs out at 1800. I am currently using Truthquest and I don't want to buy the next book. Do you all know of something with less reading and more action for 1800's and forward. ages 4th and 6th Thanks

I need a curriculum for a 5th and 7th grader for Logic stage ancient history. I know about Mystery of History, but that is the only curriculum I can find. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am looking at History Odyssey Ancients 2nd year for History next year. Noeo science for science. My children will be 5th and 7th grade. Are these curricula multisensory? Thanks

for 5th and 7th grade studying the ancients. I want a curriculum that tells me what to do and I don't want to have to go to the library. I am in burnout mode and need it all prepared for me. Science also, something prepared and ready to go.

For example on all about newsletter it suggests having the child use shaving lotion to spell words or write them on a dry erase board, chalk on the sidewalk. Give a q-tip and soak in water to write on a chalkboard. Also another is write it in the air or use playdough. These are all hands on and may help him to see and remember it better. Just a thought.

We have been using GWG for 2 years and he still is not comfortable with nouns, verbs, and today adjectives. GWG also has diagramming which I draw it out and he fills in the blanks. He does well that way. Why can't he get it when it says underline the adjective in the sentence. My son is 4th grade working in the 4 book and we are half way through it. thanks

What curriculum do you suggest for these grades? I would like it to be something they can do together. We would be on the ancients again. I feel like I have gone through all the options. I know about Mystery of History, Truthquest I am using now and not really enjoying. I have used Story of the World up to vol. 3. I don't need anything expensive.
