  1. I will be using MFW for the 3rd year this coming fall. I am however using the Unit study. My oldest is 11,9, and then 7 yrs. old. I have tried Abeka and BJU PRESS and it was boring and mundane. :crying: I started using MFW and school is fun again!
  2. Wow! SOunds like someone's excited! I could use a little of your organizational spunk over here! :)
  3. I guess it would depend on what time of day and what age groups are out playing. If I had 7-11yr olds and there was a time when k5-1 graders were on recess....fine. If there were older kids that might be bullying, bad language, etc...probably not the best time to go to the park. :)
  4. There are several home waxing kits you can purchase at a beauty supply store...(sallys beauty supply) even drug stores carry some.
  5. Dont know if this would be an option, but, What if you could find an old wooden door (paint, and distress it whatever color). hang it on the wall horizontally with some neat old-fashioned hooks. Find an old bench somewhere, place that underneath and add some baskets under the bench for shoes, hats, etc. Then maybe next to it, a silk treeand add some white lights? I always try to find stuff around the house that I already have or garage sales. Hope this helps! :)
  6. I just went through the same exact thing with my kids! DEHYDRATION. Give them pedialyte all day and see if that does not make a huge difference. I had 3 of my kids go through this. Same exact symptons and behaviour! Lots of Pedialyte! Is she having cold sweats and shaking? Let me know if this helps!
  7. I noticed there are a lot of chicken recipes so far. Here is a fam fav at my house. I bag frozen chicken breasts 1 large can of ROTEL diced tomatoes. cook low alllllllllll day! Shread the chicken and put on warm flour tortillas with monterey jack cheese. YUM!
  8. I have to deal with this issue as well! I have 6 kids. (11,9,7,4,3,1) It can drive you CRAZAY!!!!!! You start your day off with a quiet time..."Lord, help me to love these blessings you have given me. Help me to teach them with all patience and kindness and love." OK....deep breath. Go out there and teach those little blessings! Then they start whining, fighting, arguing, and suddenly everyone needs to sharpen their 7 pencils that have ALL broke!!!!! It can turn the most patient, attentive mom into a frenzy. :) I have realized it is all about consistancy! Explain and let them be assured that it is vital that they understand and work hard. If you feel like they are off in "la la land" and whining let's do an extra page for each time you whine! School could be out for the summer in a week at this rate! Homeschooling is definetly a labor of love. I deal with this myself! Hope it helps! :)
  9. I would use My Father's World Unit Studies Curriculum. LOVE THEM!!!! So unique and creative!
  10. I have 6 kids and do not usually monitor this until I have noticed them getting dehydrated lately due to the humidity and heat. I have now made this a major priority in our home. water only- all day. :)
