  1. Having dealt with this on a personal and professional basis, it is crucial to get several professional opinions regarding this specific incident. It sounds as if you have spent much time getting advice so far, and that can be frustrating, discouraging, and confusing at times. Pray about open and closed doors, and that God would make clear which professional opinion to follow. I know it is so painful, but try to remember good things from God during this trying time. sarah
  2. Paddock is such a proper term. There are a number of small ruminants that are so cute from that area. They could keep it grazed. Shetland sheep are great. Many are very low maintenance. I'd just enjoy having a fenced area to let the kids run wild in. Sarah
  3. I love cast iron skillets! Take a courser grade steel wool first, then finer.I have done this on skillets no telling how old they are. Then coat it good and thick with vegetable oil and stick it in an oven 450+ degrees until it smokes and smells to high heaven. This is the only way I know it is done. Then it is ready to cook in. With Iron you don't scrub it with soap and water to death like we do most everything else in the kitchen. Keep it seasoned. Some people keep a little oil on the skillet before they put it away. Others put oil on it and heat it up on high just for a minute on the stove after every use. I usually end up seasoning my skillets once a year at most. sarah
  4. I have a friend who does it all on Excel spreadsheets. I'll see if she will post. sarah
  5. I love old, historic homes. There is something comforting about being one family who shares in the history with another from the past. I know this may sound strange, but does one of them feel happier/ comforting? I have been in 7 houses in 15 years, and I remember the first time I walked in to each one even if it was months before we came back around to it. May the best house win. sarah
  6. I think we should spend the money developing long term sustainable energy solutions rather than drilling. Electric /hybrid cars, solar panels , clean coal, public transportation so more people can afford them. Oil will only go so far, and we need to plan for that know. The percentage of change that these drilling projects will achieve is in the single digits. No matter where we drill the price of oil is determined globally. Our oil here cannot make a large percentage change on the global oil market price. It is not as if oil from Texas is $50 a barrel and from Saudi Arabia is $140. It will be 10 years before the drilling gets oil on the market. We can save more oil more quickly by implementing conservation strategies and less competition for oil bring the price of oil down for everyone. food for thought. sarah
  7. I thank God for Organic milk and organic farmers. It is a sacrifice and a service to farm and to provide for those of us that cannot raise our food. It is a thankless job in which you do not get to hear from the many families that drink from your labor. I know that does not help with your kitchen desires, but those are my thoughts on it. sarah
  8. There are times in our lives that seem so hopeless and sad. I pray that you will be strong and comforted by grace. sarah
  9. After dealing with 2 public schools in the NYC area and one private school in TN, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep going up the ladder of the ps heirarchy. No effort for your children is ever wasted. sarah
  10. Another idea is Kumon math. It is a timed and mastery tutoring service. My son with ADHD loves it. HTH Sarah
  11. I think sponge bob has some deep lessons hidden somewhere I need the typing more than my kids:lol: sarah
  12. I wish my parents had not told me about my test scores until I took the PSAT in 7th grade. :chillpill: sarah
