I wouldn't ask for money for things that you are essentially getting for free.

How much money are we talking about?

It was the two other NOT sick kids that were around playing, right?
Yes, but they were around their sister and could be carrying whatever she's got.

So our neighbor calls around bedtime looking for her two boys, who aren't here. They were here earlier but went to another neighbor's house. Then the mom tells dh that her six year old has a fever of 106. Now our kids are exposed to whatever it was because her two other kids were over here and we didn't know they could be sick.
Part of it is that I don't want my kids sick, but the other thing is that our sole source of income is me doing childcare. So if I have to close because we're sick, I make no money.
I know it stinks when one of your kids is sick, but don't you keep the other ones home or at least warn people first and let them decide?

It is the responsibility of the driver who caused the accident to replace the car seats. We were rear-ended back in December and GEICO paid $1200 to replace our five car seats.

In using SOTW though, we are constantly running into lengthy sections that are mostly or only about historical people's religions. I don't mind to a certain extent, but I do mind when it is the bulk of or the main focus of the entire chapter.
History is mostly about religion, so it's important to learn about how those religions shaped cultures.

I wouldn't use a timer. I have them read the story aloud, the whole thing. Ds1 is doing third grade and the stories are getting longer, so I will let him read it silently, but you need to read the whole story to do the "Thinking about the Story" type of page.

My husband is waiting to hear back about an interview he had for a lighting job in Kansas City. He loves the idea of this job and working for this company and I'm hoping he gets it.

I've read articles about it before and I think it sounds great. I remember reading about a bubble machine at the one they had here.

We started using CLE this year for math and it does make that easier for me. We'll be using it for Language Arts as well starting next year.

OK, the mental image I have of a "headcovering Mennonite" with her Friday night Mike's really brought me a smile.
I aim to please :)
We have always been part of Calvary Chapel, which has never been a membership kind of church. In the spirit of more off-topic comments, we once got kicked out of a Calvary Chapel for not putting our (quiet) children in the nursery during service. I was shocked, since it was our first visit and they didn't even know if we were believers or not.

First, I'd give up thinking of your number three child as a "student", per se, unless that child is already reading or something like that.
Normally, I wouldn't do much with a four year old, but he's been asking for schoolwork every day this year and me printing out worksheets for him isn't cutting it anymore. So I'm going to pick up some CLE workbooks for him at the curriculum fair.

I'm heading to a curriculum fair tomorrow to buy things for next year. Working on my list it hit me that I'll have a 4th grader, a 1st grader and a Pre-Ker. Help!
How do I get schoolwork done with all three of them?

Even as a headcovering Mennonite, I don't think I would join a chuch that prohibited consuming alcohol unless God was clearly calling us to do so. It's not so much about my Mike's Hard Lemonade as much as there being no biblical basis at all for not drinking any alcohol.

Is this your first year? $1200 seems right if you're just starting out, but you should be able to pass books down, so it'll get cheaper in coming years.
Did you ever fight with the cable company?
