  1. Alot of people seem to like Abeka as a prepackaged curriculum. It was recommended to me when I first began. I used their nursery & k4 programs, and they were good. They have a very strong phonics program.
  2. This is me..."grass is greener syndrome". I haven't even started OPG yet, my oldest is only 5. So...I think I'm going to take both of your advice & stick with what I have. DH will be much happier with the cost:001_smile:. Thanks!!
  3. Thanks Heather! That's exactly why I purchased OPG to begin with. But...I am a major curriculum junkie. Everytime I see someone rave about something I just have to check it out to see what I'm missing. I've seen so many good reviews about SSRW lately & thought it does look fun, but very time consuming (which I can't do right now).:)
  4. I love paypal!! It it a great way to do online transactions. In fact, I hardly ever get to the post office so it's the only thing that allows me to do online shopping. I also have made use of their buyer protection & got a refund once for a non performing seller on ebay. You can't do that with a MO.
  5. I already own OPGTR and was planning to use it with my ds 5&4. But, I have been looking at SSRW & it looks like alot of fun. However, it is very pricey & I do already have OPGTR. I am just beginning my homeschool experience & I would get my money's worth as I have 4 more to school after them. Does anyone own both or have chosen between the 2 that could help me think through this process? Also, Is SSRW very teacher intensive? I am already using RS Math & don't know if I would be able to add another program as intensive as that. I do also have a 3yr old, 2yr old, & 1yr old twins. Sorry for all the rambling thoughts, but I'm just trying to decide what to do. Thanks!
  6. Would it be a huge pain to make the cards myself? They are so expensive, but i was just wondering if they're worth purchasing. Does anyone know who has the best prices on the rightstart products? Thanks!
  7. I have the book, but not the time to organize something like this right now. I'd love to participate though. If someone else wanted to organize it I'd be glad to get the book into their hands.:)
  8. We use the K4 set with the flash a cards. The cards are expensive, but they really are helpful & my dc like looking at the pictures while I'm telling the stories. My oldest is almost 6 & we all enjoy it. It's very thorough.
  9. Has anyone used this? Would it be easy to use for science only? Thanks!
  10. My DH prefers corn tortillas over flour too. I saw Rachel Ray do this & I tried it. It really works. First you heat up some oil in a pan or a Fry Daddy. Then you just dip each tortilla into the oil one at a time with some tongs for a few seconds. I then laid them on a plate on some paper towels to absorb the grease. It really made them alot easier to work with. HTH:)
  11. I thought Little Hands To Heaven was very simple to use yet very thorough. It uses R&S preschool workbooks which are very good for that age. You can see samples online. Just google Heart of Dakota & you should find their site. HTH!:001_smile:
