  1. Would anyone out there be willing to send me a pinterest request? If so, my email is dizzywaif at gmail dot com. Thanks in advance!! :)
  2. So excited around here too... I bought "Nature Connections" by Clare Walker Leslie for some fun ideas. It's organized through each month so there are things to do even in the winter. Can't wait to start using this! I also am excited to hack my Nook so that I can get a better pdf reader on it... so I can have Comstock's Handbook with me in ebook form at all times (minus the rainy days). (I'm a nerd.)
  3. I've been interested in trying out Peterson Directed Cursive (they have a start with cursive option), but I have not yet heard any reviews by home educators who have used the cursive-first Peterson. Anyone? :lurk5:
  4. This stuff is awesome. Bumping up an old post to see if anyone else has anything new in either finding or implementing the vintage language arts resources... :-)
  5. I think this is the link to Geomatters: http://www.geomatters.com/products/category.asp?CID=40 Thanks for the ideas everyone! :grouphug:
  6. Bumping this up... I'm curious if anyone has purchased this newer edition of the Usbourne Encyclopedia. Is it internet-linked? Has anyone found a library binding? Thanks! :001_smile:
  7. (I accidentally posted this as a reply to another thread) So I'm looking for suggestions on vintage (online) resources for compiling a solid education in the Language Arts for my young ones. I found a speller and a phonics spine that I want to use, but I'm curious if anyone has found success with Sheldon's Primary Language Lessons (and has any input on how it compares with First Language Lessons). I'm also curious to know if there is a good, vintage alternative to Writing With Ease. Also, I'm guessing there aren't teacher guides/answers for things like Sheldon's. Does that make it harder to teach? Thanks!! :)
  8. Oops... I'll start a new thread with my above post. Accidentally replied to the post. :tongue_smilie:
  9. Anyone have recommendations on a good history timeline book, or preferably, a long poster or scroll style timeline? Thanks! :)

  11. These are well-formatted ebooks falling under the historical category. I saw a few in there that would be good for Middle Ages literature: http://www.feedbooks.com/books/top?category=FBFIC014000&lang=en&range=week HTH!! :)
  12. Wow... yeah, I've been there. I always say the curse of childbearing is the sickness/HG. I could have gone through childbirth five times rather than the misery of HG (and mine wasn't even quite as bad as others' HG). Had it with both pregnancies. My little ones are younger than preschool right now, and I'm a little scared I won't be a competent home educator if I get pregnant again (we'd like more kids)... what are your experiences with homeschooling simultaneously with HG?
  13. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Gombrich's A Little History of the World. How does it compare to SOTW or CHOW? Thanks for your insights! :)
  14. Thanks, stripe! Do you happen to find the ebook worthwhile? Is it as easy to use as a printed version, in your opinion?
  15. Thanks for that link, Alicia!:001_smile: SO helpful!
  16. Don Potter's site is actually how I found the primer. Just curious if anyone else has opted for Burnz's Step by Step primer and found success!
  17. Wondering if there's a good co-op already in the Louisville-ish area... or if there are any other people out there in this area... :lurk5:
  18. Ooh-- Sherry, great point on the A4 paper. So glad you brought that out. Wow, thanks everyone for the input. I'm definitely getting more interested in the program with all the positive feedback! :D Zookeeper: I was thinking of complementing the program with Miquon math too. Thanks for the ideas of how you're using it. How long does Miquon + MEP take you per day approximately?
