I was waiting for 4D to buy the whole set. DD10 will be ecstatic when it gets here!

I bought it as soon as I got the email. :) My oldest loved the Mud books so I couldn't resist.

My almost 10yo loves art and we have a lot of standard art supplies. What are some options for digital art/animation etc? I don't know a ton about this, but google results were overwhelming and I thought I would ask those who might have some experience. :) I have heard good things about Scratch and Minecraft. She might like those, but I wonder if there is something age appropriate that is more art focused, like animation. We have ipads if that makes a difference.

Does anyone use Kahn as your base program? We are playing with it right now with me sitting with dd9 and explaining and guiding as needed. It is a lot of review at this point, but I wonder about how complete it would be for new concepts with a teacher who could explain, clarify and get out a whiteboard to show extra examples.

No problems with writing. She can fill a page in not too much time and it is neat. She loved learning cursive, etc. We already do 1/2 of the lesson each day. I will look into Spelling City again.

I'm not sure what to do with my 9yo other than using spell check and going over her writing with her, argh! She reads at grade level and has no problems writing. However, she HATES workbooks and the only program I have found that actually works for her is, of course, Apples & Pears. The OG and Spalding type programs did not help her spelling. We have tried writing most of the lessons on a whiteboard, using a pretty notebook with pretty erasable pens and colores pencils, using a drawing app, etc. She loves art and pretty things, but nothing overcomes the workbook hate. She doesn't have dyslexia, but since Apples & Pears and Dancing Bears worked so well for her are there spelling apps or computer programs that might work?
I'm having to rework math as well as even the RightStart lessons with 1 workbook page are causing meltdowns. But I am finding a ton of resources for books, games, apps and websites. Not so much for spelling, especially since it is just spelling with no reading or writing issues.

Sad :( We could not live without Nutella, Ferrero Roche and Tic Tacs. We got Ferrero Roche today!

I offered to help her get her shirt off. She's 3 and how dare I try to help her, even though she is screaming because she can't do it by herself.

I have rugs that I wash all the time. While they do fit in my front loader, I prefer to take them to the laundromat. We live in a rural area and have chickens, dogs, and a boy child. I don't want the nasty stuff that gets dragged in going into my washing machine. I buy the kind that don't have a backing on them and use rubber slip mats under them. Those I do wash in cold water in the machine.
Ooh, rubber slip mats underneath makes sense. Then we could have a rug that would be thinner and bendable enough to fit in a washing machine. Thank you everyone!

The How to Train Your Dragon audiobook is very funny, much funnier than just reading it. The Ramona series read by Stockard Channing is also very well done.

I assume these would have to be dry cleaned even though they say machine washable? How would it fit? Are there laundromats with machines big enough to wash a 5 x 8 rug? I ask because we would like to get rid of our carpet eventually, but we live in a cold climate and might want a rug. I don't like carpet because it can't be cleaned well and wouldn't want to just exchange carpet for a rug that gets yucky.

We use clipboards for a lot of school papers and coloring/drawing/painting at the table. They are also portable so we can do school on the couch or take them with us in the car etc. There are cheap clipboards and pretty ones with colors or designs. You can go cheap with the brown ones from Walmart or color code them by child or subject. There are also clipboards like these that hold papers and supplies.

I teach both English and Spanish phonics at the same time. My second reader is similar to the first in that she progressed much more quickly in Spanish. So now she just chooses whatever book she wants to read to me in Spanish and she is still using a phonics program for English.

My 9yo reads to me from McGuffey every day. It takes about 10 minutes or less. She reads a story or two a day. I know you can purchase the physical books. The nice thing about the free ebooks is you could look through them before purchasing a physical copy.

My kids love it and have learned a ton.

Boys Over Flowers is a very popular rom com. The actor who starred in it is also in City Hunter which is more of an action series. They are both on Netflix. We have a social group here where talk about our addiction. :)

I would also love something that at least has an engaging audio component, even if it were not the heart of the program. Video probably lends itself better for science, but an audiobook is easy to take in the car. My oldest would listen to an engaging program over and over while doing other activities like crafts and cleaning.

I want to share a notebook from my account to my dd for some school information. I created it in my account and emailed it to her to share it. Now I want her to be able to access it in the onenote app on her ipad. But it is not showing up. The app will let her make new notebooks etc, but the notebook that I shared with her is not showing up even though she is signed in with her account. It was a basic notebook with some basic documents.
I also uploaded some mp3 files to my onedrive and want to share them with her just like the notebook, but the same thing is happening. They are not showing up.
For what it is worth I am using onenote online not the Mac app. My mac is too old to update to Maverick so I can't use the desktop version of onenote.
Suggestions?

I'm a freelance translator. I have a degree in a foreign language and did some translating when my oldest was a baby. It didn't work out for long at the time because she was high needs and then I had 2 more kids. Now we are done having children and my youngest will be 3 next month. She loves to play with her older sisters and they are very willing to get her the occasional snack. It is working out for us because it hasn't cost anything to start up again, I can do it from home, I decide how much I will work and I don't have to arrange childcare or even go anywhere.
One of our neighbors does medical transcription at home.

My 9yo loves it and has done several of the activities on her own. We have gotten it when it was discounted and found it to be well worth it.

Thank you!!!!!!!!

We've watched and played the games that have videos on Rightstart's website. But I can very rarely figure out how to play the other games just from reading the instructions in the book, argh! Are there any other videos that anyone else has done?
