  1. Thanks for looking....Kathy Jo sent me the definitions. Great service!! Pam
  2. I have ELTL 1. I want to have my ds work on some memory work for parts of speech definitions, but the definitions are in book 2. Can anyone share how they are worded? Pam
  3. Thanks for sending to your blog. I looked at it before, but I liked reading it again. I think SOTW might be a good fit for us for now. It looks like we will still have time to do MOH in high school if we choose. I didn't know which to choose for now, and I was getting overwhelmed thinking of combining them all at once so we wouldn't have to miss one of them. I wish I wouldn't have fumbled around so much the past three years. So we still have time to do SOTW, MOH, and VP mixed in! Would you NOT recommend all 3 at the some time? I see some charts that do combine them. Pam
  4. Well, I want to do it all! I want to do SOTW, MOH, and VP! I think I might look into some schedules I've see for MOH and SOTW and still memorize VP Timeline (along with reading the backs of the cards. Am I looking for trouble? Pam
  5. I've used Bible Study Guide For All Ages off and on since mine were little. They have all loved the songs and memory work. They've memorized a lot (books of the Bible, 12 Sons of Jacob, Judges of Israel, etc.) and still remember what they've memorized. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. :)
  6. 1 vote for SOTW, 1 for MOH. :) A tie breaker? Or a different plan? Pam
  7. Anyone have any other suggestions for a game plan? Pam
  8. Good ideas! I was thinking of SOTW--fast paced, and then MOH, but I did't know if we'd have enough years for that plan. Pam
  9. I had to bow out of VP-SP History and I don't want to do it on my own, although we ARE learning the timeline. Very limited internet. I am looking for 6th, 5th, and 2nd grade boys. Would you do SOTW WITH MOH, or ????? The 6th grader has basically done Ancient Egypt and some American History by interest lead only. WWYD? Pam
  10. Maybe (RS4K) FOCUS ON MIDDLE SCHOOL BIOLOGY Pam
  11. Anyone using them both? I am thinking of doing BSGFAA and just adding Veritas Bible Timeline songs. [...or do all of VP (not SP) and songs from BSGFAA (we do like their songs :tongue_smilie: ???????????????????? :confused1: ] Pam
  12. We actually did this for a short time 2 years ago. It was okay, but I did not like the flow of the next 2 books at all, so we didn't continue with it . Thanks for the suggestion, though. Pam
  13. Yes, simple sounds better! I looked at it and it really looks like what we'd all like. Lately they have been taking back packs, notebooks, field guides, tape recorder, and binoculars to the swamp and sitting, watching birds, beavers, duck, etc. I haven't even had to 'teach' it! :) Pam
  14. Looking for 8, 10, 12 year old boys. I was planning on SL (I like TOPS and Lyrical Science), but now I am thinking Apologia WITH Lyrical Science and CGC. Any recommendations??? Anyone have a plan of using these together? Pam
  15. I just did the samples (Levels 1 & 2) and have read as much as I can get my hands on from Kathy Joe Devore. My full books will be here tomorrow. I downloaded the phonics/writing book which goes along with Level 1 and I love the simplicity, yet thoroughness of it. I also have been doing ELTL (Level 1), which my son and I love. I KNOW Spalding's and Sanseri's methods. I think Sanseri improved on what Spalding did in a lot of ways, but made it too much in other ways. Kathy Joe DeVore hit the nail on the head in my book. No bells and whistles, but very well done. Laid out better than SWR. Better explanations and plan than WRTR. SWR and WRTR are both very good programs. This is just my take on what I have experienced. Pam
  16. Reading Lessons Through Literature. I need to change my siggy. I am not using AAS anymore. (blushing...I have used them all) Pam
  17. Mindy, Are you still using RLTL? Do you feel it is a solid program for spelling? Could you give a 'pros' and 'cons' review if you've continued with it? What level of spelling do you think it goes through? Pam
  18. Can anyone give a positive review of RLTL? I am so totally on the fence of which of these I want to use. I think the biggest difference is AAS teaches mastery, by rules; RLTL teaches the Ayers List, arranged around the stories in the Elson Readers. Pam
  19. Why would you choose NOT to do AAS? OR Why did it NOT work for you? Pam
