  1. This one sounds really interesting. Added it to my wish list. I read Reading Lolita a few years ago. Cant' say I loved it, but I liked it well enough. I was born in Tehran, so it was quite relevant to me. I keep meaning to read Five Quarters. :) I really want to read this.
  2. I've asked you this before and I forgot what you told me :tongue_smilie:. 3 pounds are usually too light for me. Is it that she suggests 3 pounds for only her own routines or for all types of exercise? For example, today I did some overhead raises using 3 pound weights and they were way too light for me. I'm always curious about this as well as possibly ordering her collection. Thank you. :grouphug:
  3. I don't care about Hallmark holidays - none of us really make a big deal out of them - Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's, etc. We love birthdays and anniversaries, however. :)
  4. Bar Method: Beginner's Workout - instructor talks very fast  :iagree: I just have to be super-careful with those. My knees are sensitive.
  5. Cynthia, for high-impact stuff like rebounding, I wear a more supportive bra. :) Got mine from Athleta, I think. I don't jump very high. Our ceilings are also 8-foot high and yes, I do my rebounding directly under our ceiling fan. :D Been doing it for a few years and love it. No problems so far. Ladies, I keep reading (here on these boards and elsewhere) that rebounding and jumping jacks are very helpful for urinary stress incontinence. Tip: Don't drink too much water beforehand AND make sure to go to the bathroom right before. :)
  6. Classical Stretch - Season 8 - did 3 workouts in this set: * Stretch all 800 Muscles * Increase Your Energy * Stress Relieving Workout  My rebounder came with a free DVD. It helped to give me some ideas, but it's a bit annoying to use regularly. I have a routine that I do to my favorite music. I love it - the computer's on and I enjoy watching photos on the slideshow while I bounce and do different moves while listening to music. I've viewed lots of rebounding DVDs on TotalFitness and Collage - have yet to find something I really like. You Tube (like the Tracy Anderson one you mentioned) has lots of good ideas also.
  7. Rebounding Some of the many benefits of rebounding: Vigorous workouts like rebounding have double the heart benefits of mild exercise. Rebounding helps the lymphatic system. There are many symptoms of a congested lymphatic system - heart disease, high blood pressure, varicose veins, and so many others. Rebounding builds stronger bones. Feel free to come visit my blog for more info - :) http://neginsays.com/lets-lymphasize/ http://neginsays.com/internal-vacuum-cleaning/
  8. Wasn't feeling too great earlier. I didn't think I'd be able to do anything. Happy to have just done Quick Callanetics: Stomach. I feel much better now. Not completely well, but better. :)
  9. Thank you for your kind words. :grouphug: Thank you also. :grouphug: I'll do my best to look stuff up and post something on it soon hopefully. I'm coming to the realization, or maybe I came to the realization long ago, that there does not seem to be a perfect diet for everyone. Our bodies are different. Some might do best on the Mediterranean approach, others on the low-carb, etc. I myself am not following any specific approach these days, but I do always think of you with the iron deficiency thing. Thanks so much. I need to keep reminding my dh. He does all that for me. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
  10. Will be going for a swim in the next half hour or so. Can't wait. :D I'd go now, but it's too dark. Not sure if you'll like Iron Yoga. I didn't care for it much at first. It's grown on me. It might be a bit dry for some, but it's very effective and parts of it are really challenging (at least for me anyway ;)).
  11. I'm laughing at your siggy quote "taking an active stance against green and orange vegetables." :grouphug:
  12. I loved and finished The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt. Really good - 4 out of 5 Stars. Thank you, Stacia :grouphug:. I'm quite sure it was you anyway. :D I just started a very large book - a Baha'i book. It will take me a while to get through - The Child of the Covenant.
  13. Greta, you're most welcome. :grouphug: I'm glad that you didn't search before posting. I like seeing threads like this from time to time. Good reminder for us all, plus, hopefully others might post also. :) Carol, :iagree:. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: This. :iagree: Thank you. I'm going to look into this.
  14. Lots of prayers. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  15. Ellen Barrett: Grace and Gusto ETA: I just decided to start rating my workout DVDs, just like I do with my books. I'd give the above 3 out of 5 stars - good, not great. Not my favorite Ellen Barrett, but I do so like her. :)
  16. I'm 44 and most likely will not have a mammogram for a while. Hopefully. Unless, of course, if I see a need to. I do daily self-checks and try to have a thermogram once a year. I've had one so far. There were some heat irregularities, but nothing to be really worried about. I love thermograms and spent a few years researching the pros and cons of mammograms, thermos, etc. This is often a very controversial subject. This is what I decided for me. Everyone needs to make their own decision that seems best for them. There are quite a few threads here on this. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353916&highlight=thermogram http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245444&highlight=thermogram http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244324&highlight=thermogram and lots more. I've posted on these threads with all the info that I came up with on my research. I can post it all again if you wish. Let me know if you have any more questions.
  17. Thank you. :grouphug: BTW, I just love your avatar. Makes me wish I was there. :)
