  1. Will be doing aerobics later this morning. Of course you may join. :grouphug: Good for you on all your workouts. You're making great progress. :)
  2. I really like this and will most likely order it very soon. Thank you so much. :D Thank you so much. Will look into these also. :)
  3. Wow. Interesting. :D May give it a try. Thanks again everyone. :)
  4. Thanks again everyone for your very helpful tips. :grouphug: My mom just got this. :) Back in my make-up wearing days, I loved the stuff by Benefit also. Yes, I keep hearing good things about the Laura Mercier one also. I think this was what Charla Krupp suggested in her book. I love the idea of a tinted moisturizer so much more than foundation. I really dislike foundation. :glare: And when it comes to powder, I really don't want it to show. Obviously. I like the dewy look, especially as I get older. I don't mind pricey when a product is very good. :iagree: and I have the same skin tone. I have found that my eye glasses help a bit with hiding my dark circles. ;) Same here. Lots of humidity and heat in the Caribbean. I'll look into the concealer you suggested. Are you kidding? You have been so incredibly helpful. :D :grouphug: :D Thank you! My dd and I complain of the same thing. Hair gets stuck in gloss and then hits our glasses.
  5. In the Company of Cheerful Ladies - light and simple - exactly what I need :)
  6. Thank you all so much. :grouphug: Thank you for these very helpful and detailed tips. :) I really love your approach. Sounds very much like what I have in mind. Combo. Shiny forehead which always shows in photos :tongue_smilie:. Is there a secret or tips to mineral make up application. I think I once read that it can be complicated. I guess I'm mistaken. Good. I love sheer and forgiving :D. I often had a problem with foundations and tinted stuff, including concealer, with picking the exact right shade. That part of make up was always my biggest pain. :glare: Good to know. Will consider this one also. I should watch some of her videos also. I love her skin care products. Quick question: if I plan on using concealer from time to time for those dreaded under eye shadows/circles, will I need to use foundation and powder also, or, hopefully, can I just get by with concealer?
  7. Yes, and I would really prefer simple and low maintenance. I don't want to spend more than 5 or so minutes on it. I don't want to spend forever taking it off at night.
  8. again after more than 14 years of not wearing any. I'm thinking of starting to wear make up again, but not too much. I prefer a natural look as much as possible. Any tips, etc.? Should I just stick to Paula Begoun's stuff and her books? I can't believe I'm asking this. I used to be the Queen of Make Up :tongue_smilie:. Used to wear it all. the. time. and lots of it too, may I add.
  9. :smilielol5: :smilielol5: :smilielol5: My first good laugh of the morning. :D Rosie, thank you. :grouphug: The one and only review is also funny - not even available to U.S. buyers. ;)
  10. Dorinda, your post is so incredibly helpful. Thank you. :grouphug: And I love the "Frizzy Girls UNITE" encouragement. :D
  11. Thank you for this warning. Sorry you had to go through all that. Thanks, Mrs. Mungo. Yes, I'll just stick to the product forum.
  12. Thank you for this. This has been on and off my wish list for a few years now. Now, I've taken it off permanently.
  13. I am so sorry. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I've posted a few times about hair loss and more natural ways of dealing with it. I hope some of this info helps. http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/showthread.php?t=320783&highlight=scalp+massage&page=3 http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/showthread.php?t=312580&highlight=scalp+massage I think that improving the circulation of the scalp (daily massage) and nutrition may help somewhat. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  14. Thank YOU. :grouphug: I love the quotes that you posted. You and your family are blessed to espouse such wonderful values. :)
  15. I haven't yet had time to visit their forums and hope to later today. Is it fairly user-friendly? Thanks. :) I'm undecided between this and the Lush ones. My sister and mother use Surya and are happy with it. Yes, I love black and blue-black. But 7 days??? Not good at all.
  16. Thank you all so much. :grouphug: This looks good. :) I also dislike the coarse texture. My hair has always been very thick and often coarse, but now that there's more and more gray, the coarseness has obviously increased. I use sulfate-free shampoos. Like you, I'm quite cautious about damage from a chemical straightener. And yes, I've also heard that henna makes the hair red, except for some brands that are not pure henna, such as the ones from Lush or the mixes. That's all something I know very little about, however. Will look into the Suave keratin line. I like the idea of a temporary color glaze. Wonder how long it will last. Thank you. :) None of their products have helped me. Not sure if I tried that specific one, but I haven't been happy with their stuff. Thank you. This looks good. Thank you. The Pureology shampoo is very expensive (at least it is on amazon), but if it works, I'm willing to try it. Me too. You're not hijacking. This is my challenge also. I prefer to be low-maintenance on the whole. I don't mind using my CHI iron for special occasions, but not for daily use. I don't want to use high heat on a daily or very regular basis. Will look into it. Dawn, you look beautiful, btw. :grouphug: I really, really wanted the Curly Girl book approach to work for me. I tried it several years ago for a few months. The results were not good. Didn't work for me. I wish they had. If anyone thinks of anything else, please share. :D
  17. The older I get, the frizzier my hair gets. I dislike using the straightening iron other than for special occasions. I notice more hair loss when I use the iron. I have been getting keratin treatments every few months. At first, they were great and I was very happy with them. Now, after about two years or so (maybe longer), they're not as effective as they first were - not that it doesn't work at all - helps somewhat, just not nearly as good as the first several times. I don't understand why. I'm considering now having them done anymore since they're not exactly cheap. A friend suggested having my hair relaxed. I don't know much about it. My hair is certainly not curly - just frizzy at the top and slightly wavy overall. I don't particularly care for all the chemicals. My hair is getting more gray and although I haven't wanted to dye it, I'm now considering henna. Wondering if that would help the frizz, particularly since it's mainly the gray hairs that are frizzy. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  18. Thanks, Stacia. :grouphug: I'm considering it . Already read them twice.
  19. I finished Mozart's Wife and probably because of the mood I was in, I'd give it 2 Stars. If I was in a better mood, I'd likely give it 3. Nonetheless, I think he was a real jerk. Having difficulty reading and focusing these days. Lots of magazines and have just started The Full Cupboard of Life. An easy read.
  20. Not so much a book for teens, but an excellent book nonetheless. Here's her homepage.
