  1. Trust me...you are DEFINITELY not alone. I am thumbing through my Rainbow book each night at bedtime, wondering, contemplating, and researching the next best thing I can add to our day. I don't know why I do it. Is the grass ever greener? Maybe I feel if I keep hopping fences I'll eventually end up in the greenest grass. If I am not careful though, I may end up in the grass that has the most dogs living there. Okay, my post is getting too metaphoric. Must sleep now.
  2. I used Alphaphonics with ETC for my oldest. Worked great for him...but, with my youngest, we just finished McRuffy K Phonics and Reading. It was WONDERFUL! So gentle, yet completely thorough. I love it because it covered all the bases. Copy a sentence daily, wonderful readers, great sliders-that my son loved cutting out each week, awesome teacher manual-no prep time necessary; all in all I think it is the best program I have ever used in our homeschool. And, that's saying a lot considering all of the curriculum I have bought and sold over the past 3-4 years.
  3. The Cincinnati Convention is $50.00 for Thursday night through Saturday and it is worth EVERY penny! I can hardly wait!! :D
  4. I, too, would recommend Heart of Dakota. Wonderfully laid out and so mom friendly! Easy to use when teaching children close in age. Carrie Austin has really done an incredible job with it~JMO!
  5. We rented Tae Bo Kicks from the library and the boys loved it!
  6. I love getting my books spiral bound! It just seems to make my life so much easier!:D So, in answer to the question, I guess I try to get it done to most of my books, even the ones that are in the supposed 'lay-flat' binding.
  7. My list keeps getting longer, and longer:rolleyes: I cannot wait until the Cinci convention! I just hope I can keep from buying too much before I even get there. I just purchased Spelling Power 2 days ago, and now the curriculum junkie in me is trying to rear it's ugly head. Some of the bigger items on my list are: McRuffy Phonics and Reading Grade 1 Winston Grammar-thinking of switching from GWG Contemplating switching from Abeka Arithmetic to RightStart or Shiller And also thinking of purchasing Writing with Ease by SWB See what I mean?!? And these are only the bigger items!
  8. I am in the exact same situation. '2nd' grade son who happens to be a natural speller and we have never used a formal program. I just purchased Spelling Power after speaking with many moms about it. I really didn't want another 'workbook' program and after talking directly to the Rainbow Resource gals, decided to take the plunge with it! :) I guess I am not really much of a help here other than to say after much research...this is the path I decided to choose with Spelling. I will be anxious to see how many others respond to this post.
