  1. I'm in! I really enjoyed seeing you there last year.
  2. I agree with everything that has been posted. I enjoyed hearins her enthusiasm in person and got a fat dose of motivation. Watching SWB "school" them a bit was quite entertaining. I was shocked at how difficult the basic concepts were for the audience to grasp. Not only from the questions they asked, but also all the sighing and eye-rolling i witnessed. LeAnn
  3. As far as I know they have not sent the invitatations, and my emails are no longer answered. Maybe they had a change of heart. Would love SWB to come to AZ again sometime so we can get a chance to see her!
  4. I actually have no information about where or anything. We have to get invited to find out since it's a closed event. I sent a list of names - hope we all get to go! LeAnn
  5. Good news! Let me know by tonight (10/11) your name and email. They will let me submit a list of names and will send out invitations :) Email me at LeAnnContessa@ gmail.com LeAnn
  6. I was so excited that SWB was finally coming to speak in Arizona! If any of you here in AZ were stalking the website of the Archway Classical Academy for information about registering, you can stop. After finally sending them an email I found out that the language arts symposium is by invitation only. No, I don't know how you get invited. sigh... very sad :( LeAnn
  7. Great ideas! I find it sometimes takes a bit for my family to get into the groove of the slower, relaxed pace of camping. The first day is usually the loudest :) We also play lots of games, do crafts, bow/arrows, etc. I love to bring egg cartons with names on them. They use them as sorters/holders for all the things they find. It keeps them occupied for a long time.
  8. Are the companion CD's of music full excerpts or samples of pieces? Are they recordings with real instruments or electronic? Thanks!
  9. One of my dogs didn't take to it right away either. I had to get rid of all the "kibble" so she couldn't smell it. Also, you can warm it a bit, and try a small sprinkle of parmesan cheese. This worked for us, and after a week I didn't have to do it anymore. Now, years later, she is a pro. My dogs have perfect teeth, very little poop, and are very healthy. It's much cheaper than what we were paying for vets, and expensive food for allergies.
  10. We like them. Occasionally the reading selection has been, imo, not age appropriate. More like high school level - difficult to understand. I just substitute with something else.
  11. I used this for a couple of my kids and was quite underwhelmed. Honestly, you could put it together yourself so easily. I am pretty sure I spent more time navigating the website than it would have taken to put something together.
  12. I just think violin is one of many instruments that in order to be able to advance to more difficult music and play it well, you really need guidance. Even with a parent in the lesson and me coaching them on how to practice with the child at home it can still be difficult.
  13. I heard back today from them. They said only a matter of months for the Classiquest physics program. I already went ahead with Noeo Physics III. Has anyone used this yet??
